We arrived at the hotel around midnight and were informed that we needed to pay a €5 government tax, which was not an issue. I offered to pay by card, as I had not yet collected cash. The receptionist initially claimed that my card had been declined, despite the receipt showing approval of the transaction. He attempted to fold the receipt to prevent me from seeing it, but I insisted that he demonstrate the decline. At this point, he was surprised and confirmed that the transaction had, in fact, been approved. The following morning, construction noise began disturbing us at 7:00-8:00 am, as we had been placed in a room directly next to the construction area. Why were these rooms not closed off due to the ongoing work? Additionally, the fire alarm was sounding continuously, again due to the construction. We had to contact reception to request a room change, but we were told that we would need to wait for the reservations team to arrive before any changes could be made. We waited until 9:30 am, with no one available, but then, suddenly the team was able to swap our room to the opposite side of the hotel, away from the noise. The whole building is under construction and ultimately shouldn’t be operating during these times.
