Honestly the best place to stay in the whole of Kisoro! Ivan makes sure you will get the most out of your experience by taking you to some hidden gems, and will help with everything you need. Besides, the hotel is spacious with both inside and outside areas to sit, warm and comfy, and it has a nice restaurant too.

Ivan is such a wonderful host!! We were part of an overland tour that had us in accomodation nearby which we weren’t happy with. Several of us walked to Ivan’s place and he sorted some rooms for us! There is a great and spacious area for hanging out which we really liked. Food was delicious!! Several others from the group came for a drink at Ivan’s one night and he was kind enough to escort them back to their accomodation to ensure they got back safely. Ivan was also happy to let us tag along on his visit to the markets when he went shopping! We would definitely stay with him again when we can return to Uganda!

It's a really nice place to stay. Acommodation is basic but clean and rooms have bathrooms en suit with hot water! We were planing to stay there for one night but stayed for 4 at the end. Ivan, the owner is super nice and very helpful! He arranged for us a local Coffee Experiance and a visit to the a local museum (a lot of facinating plants and herbs)! I recomned both. Ivan helped us to get gorillas trekking permits as well (we did the gorillas on our own, without a tour operator).The staff working in Santiviva was super super nice and funny as well. Great food in the restaurant 😀

The private rooms are very nice and comfy, private shower, hot water. staff helps a lot with everything around and the chef cooks great local meals. Economic rooms offer the basic level comparing to the private rooms Highly recommend this accommodation in Kisoro.

Ivan is a great host, helpfull, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is centrally located in Kisoro, has a nice living room to chill out after hiking, good restaurant and rooms are basic but have all you need.

Santaviva is a lovely little hotel in the heart of Kisoro. Ivan, the manager, is always available to deal with whatever request you have, and he even runs his own ecotourism business from it. If you're coming to Uganda to visit Bwindi or Mgahinga national parks and the mountain gorillas, this is a great place to stay.
