The Historic Brookdale Lodge, Santa Cruz Mountains

Front desk lady was PRECIOUS!!!! Such an amazing experience. I would highly recommend without any hesitation. The balcony was amazing. I loved sitting out there in the perfect weather when I got up in the morning. Five stars no doubt!!!!!!

thanks. the location worked for us for a wedding at waterfall lodge in ben lomand. room was pretty musty/stinky. carpet torn and coming up at seam upon entry, and the staff was pretty unknowledgeable when we checked in. generally felt a little icky.

Awesome location in the mountains. Amazing Staff. Beautiful room and property. Tons to do. Short drive to the beach and state parks. Events every weekend and even on weeknights.

The Lodge is historic. It was a movie star get-away in the 1920's. It is a wonderful stop along Hwy 9 that curls through the gorgeous redwood forest. Our room was large and tastefully renovated. We had a generous deck looking out at the lodge grounds and the forest beyond. Our room was spotless. The staff was kind and efficient. And the newly renovated diner was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Came out the Friday the 13th and it started off great but after the band was done playing the partying kept going on and on and on. We got very little sleep as we had to endure people banging on the doors, yelling, and screaming. At 3am I took video and by 4 am I had to call the cops. There is no one on site after hours to enforce rules or to stop people from doing this. I showed one lady my video and I didn't get a sense that it was a concern to them, I was promised a partial refund but only received my pet deposit back, I was offered a free night or an additional $100 off the room but refused the free night and opted for the additional 100 refund but that never came after. Emailed facility with no response. So all around, I spent over 300 for one night, I think the non security and no staff on the facilities after hours is a deal breaker and I know if I had kids I would want to have them endure what we were tortured with all night.

NO ONE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE FROM 10 PM TIL 8 AM ROOM KEY WOULD NOT WORK WHEN WE RETURNED FROM A WEDDING . CALLED PHONE NUMBER LISTED FOR AFTER HOURS HELP BUT NO ONE ANSWERED SO TWO PERSONS IN OUR GROUP HAD TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR OF ANOTHER ROOM TIL THE OFFICE REOPENED THE NEXT MORNING . VERY SLIPPERY SHOWER / ONE PERSON IN OUR GROUP SUFFERED A TERRIBLE FALL . NO ANTI SLIP STRIPS ON THE TUB FLOOR AND NO MAT AVAILABLE . THE FIRST NIGHT WE STAYED WE WERE AWAKENED AT 3:30 AM BY A 4 YEAR OLD SCREAMING OUTDOORS BECAUSE SHE COULDNT FIND HER MOTHER . THE LITTLE GIRL HAD EXITED HER HOTEL ROOM BELOW US AND WE COULD NOT LOCATE HOTEL SECURITY / NO PHONES IN THE ROOMS FOR DIRECT ACCESS TO THE HOTEL STAFF SO WE HAD TO CALL 911 BECAUSE THE CHILD TOLD US THE PERSON INSIDE HER ROOM WAS NOT HER MOTHER . WE COULD NOT AWAKEN THE INDIVIDUAL INSIDE HER ROOM . DISAPPOINTING THAT WE COULD NOT REACH ANY HOTEL STAFF FOR ASSISTANCE . THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE BED WAS COMFORTABLE .

This place was beautiful and clean! We had no problem checking in or out! Everyone was so helpful and sweet! I will definitely be back with more time to check out the local scenery! Hopefully it will all be remodeled!

We stayed at this lodge for one night during the Menagerie Halloween market. The room was great! It was spacious and clean. I loved having a balcony that overlooked the market going on. Parking was a bit cumbersome, and the restaurant wasn’t open for normal hours which was a surprise to us as I requested reservations weeks in advance and could have been notified of the change. The restaurant isn’t owned by the lodge so they took no fault, but on the website they could have let us know. We would definitely stay here again!

We got a Summer special price that was fabulous. The setting is spectacular with all of the trees. We were in the Marilyn Monroe building on the ground floor in the James Dean room. The room was huge. There was a door that opened to the patio where we sat for a long time looking at the trees and the greenery. TV clear and loud. Beds were amazingly comfortable. There is a larger refrigerator in the room so next time I would bring half and half and would make coffee in the morning. The only minus is the restaurant was closed and we had to go into town to get breakfast and my morning coffee. Room was clean and there were two shower heads in the shower. Plenty of free parking right outside the room. If we come back this is where we will stay for sure. This is supposed to be ******* but the ghosts must have been on vacation as we saw none. :-) We didn't see any mosquitoes.
