Timber House Resort

First of all this isn't a resort. It has a swimming pool, that's it. You have to walk through a trailer park to get to the lake. It operates more like a self service AirB&B. We found the communication with the management to be poor. After booking we wanted to request a certain room, or at least ask about the options. Left voice mails and emails with no replies. Check in was a note with a key, and no one around. When we finally saw a manager we mentioned the poor communication to her and received no apology. The room and building was nice, the breakfast good, the server pleasant, but really it's friendly and reliable service that makes a place for us. Go there if you want a "self-service" stay.

We found this place by accident as we wanted something close to Lake Ontario and parks. The Resort is close to Presque Isle and Sand Banks Provincial Parks. The lodge and our room were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was included. For dinner we went to Sobey's in Brighton and purchased a ready meal which we ate in our Muskoka chairs on a porch off our room. We were there on a Monday. This facility caters to weddings so it may be not as quiet as what we experienced.

We found this great place, and loved most everything about it. We had the 2 bedroom suite, unfortunately the smaller bedroom did not have air conditioning but luckily it wasn't too hot. The room was situated right off the common area so it did get loud with people coming and going at 12am and talking right outside our room. It would be good to place some reminder note's that there are people sleeping so please keep the volume down when using the common area. The pool was very warm. There is a food truck with delicious food right on the property. It was a short stroll through a very nice trailer park to the lake. There is no beach, just rocks but if you brought some camping chairs you could set yourself up nicely. It was good value and breakfast is included and it is good!

Over-priced for what is provided..holes in blankets, mismatched lightbulbs, shower faucet loose in wall, old mattresses, paper thin walls ( could hear next door talking). The only two things we liked were the location and breakfast. Will not return.

We stayed 2 nights in rooms 3&4 and it was excellent, we were wine tasting in PEC but wanted to avoid the crowds so looked a little further afield and found this little gem, hidden almost (100m) on the lakeshore in a woodland setting. Perfect location great welcome too, the rooms were spacious clean and well equipped as was the central dining room a great venue and I imagine amazing in the autumn with fire roaring. The breakfast was superb my wife had the most amazing gluten free pancakes whilst I opted for bacon, poached eggs and toast all tasted fantastic, the host (Lucy I think) was super helpful in vineyard suggestions and they were all spot on and I can’t finish the review without a big shout out for the homemade Raspberry and Lavender jam! A great place to stay and we came from the UK and a perfect base for the vineyards without the crowds and hyped up prices of Picton etc. Come stay and experience what we did I’m sure you won’t be disappointed 😀👍😀

We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if in the area. The room was comfortable and we loved the jacuzzi tub. We slept well though my only complaint was the mattress was a bit hard. It was very quiet which was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Made to order breakfast was delicious.
