After reading the bad reviews from a while ago, I wanted to give this place a chance, hoping things were better. They're NOT. We got there after dark and had to park in a municipal parking lot behind the hotel. Then we had to walk through an alley with overflowing dumpsters to the back door. I thought it would be locked, but it was propped open with a brick. This concerned me because the whole area didn't seem safe. After taking our bags up the stairs (the elevator was out of service, of course) to our 2nd floor room, we were approached by a man who didn't speak English. He asked me something in a language I didn't understand and proceeded to follow us to our room. When I unlocked our door, he went in ahead of me, said something, then turned around and left. I immediately locked and bolted our door after we went in. The TV was on and when I tried to turn it off with the remote, it didn't work. It had to be turned off manually. One of the beds did not have a complete set of sheets. I will say that the bed was comfortable though. The A/C unit was busted up, but it did work wonderfully. We were in the upstairs corner room and being a Saturday night in the middle of town, it was extremely noisy until around midnight or so. There were holes in the walls and what looked like wax stuck to the floor. The towels were tiny and there were no hand towels, only bath towels and washcloths. The water was nice and hot, but there wasn't very good pressure. The toilet paper holder wasn't fastened when we got there and I had to put it together. It smelled musty and the rugs in the hallways were dirty. Thank goodness we were only there for the night and were able to check out early the next morning. I realize this is not a 5-star hotel and the price was cheaper than anything else in the area, but $100+ was most definitely a rip off for this place. Do yourself a favor and stay away!
