The Great House Hotel

We spent one night last weekend here and can honestly say, we were absolutely blown away by this beautiful hotel! We cannot recommend it enough! The food was incredible!! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were warm and friendly and you could feel the positive energy as soon as you walked in. I have to mention the food again as it was out of this world good! We would absolutely come back just for the food alone. We want to thank the staff for being so lovely it is clear you all love your job which was so refreshing and lovely to see. I hope we can come back again soon. Don’t hesitate in booking this place especially if you are a foodie!! Great location, small and quaint and all round great place.

Rooms in main building were ok but in the outer buildings were awful and definitely not worth the money, shower didn’t work in the one room, not a good start. The place needs a lot of money spending on it. Staff at breakfast on Sunday very off, customer service counts for a lot. Tried to overcharge on rooms even when we had emails to prove prices. Can’t say I’d recommend this hotel and won’t stay again.

Having travelled for 23 hours and arriving at this hotel which my son had booked us into for three days, we had the biggest shock of our lives when we were shown to our room. The room was not fit for purpose and could not believe that they were prepared to allow us to use this room for habitation. On opening the door we were met with a room that that had no resemblance to their advertisement on their website. But the most shocking aspect was the thick black mould around the window which you could scrape off being so thick ( photos available if required) On speaking to the young girl on reception we were amazed at her response which was " this is an old building and you have to take into account " As you can imagine we picked up our cases and left.
