Hoteller med morgenmad i Samarkand

From the moment I arrived, the host made me feel completely at home — super kind, always smiling, and genuinely helpful with tips about where to go and how to get around. It didn’t feel like just checking into a hostel, more like being welcomed into someone’s home. The breakfast every morning was such a treat. Fresh, tasty, and prepared with care — the kind of breakfast that actually makes you look forward to waking up early. It gave me the perfect energy to start exploring the city. The location couldn’t have been better. It’s right in a very convenient spot, close enough to walk to the main sights but still in a peaceful area where you can relax after a busy day. I loved being able to step out and reach Samarkand’s incredible landmarks so easily. Overall, Old Radio Hostel has such a cozy, warm vibe. Between the amazing host, the delicious food, and the perfect location, it really felt like a home away from home. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable and authentic stay in Samarkand — I’d definitely stay here again!

Efter et par barske nætter på et sovjetisk hotel kan ord ikke beskrive, hvor glad jeg var for at se dette hotel. Den mandlige receptionist var meget imødekommende, da jeg ankom, da han lod mig tjekke ind lidt tidligere efter en togtur. Morgenmaden opfyldte mine behov, da de har frisk frugt, grøntsager, yoghurt, æg, kaffe... ingen klage. Den fyr, der arbejder i morgenmadsområdet, var også meget hjælpsom. Efter jeg var færdig med træningen, gik jeg derop. Han spurgte mig straks, om jeg havde brug for vand. Det viser, at han er opmærksom. Jeg følte mig glad for at bo der. Grunden til at jeg reserverede det var gymnastiksalen. Som en aktiv person skal jeg træne på mine rejser. Gymnastiksalen er ikke fuldt udstyret, men det giver det grundlæggende såsom et løbebånd, en cykel og vægte. Placeringsmæssigt er det ikke i centrum af turiststedet, men det er gåafstand. Det tog mig 15 minutter at komme til Registan. Bare rolig, da Samarkand er fodgængervenlig.

Excellent location, generous service, and authentic charm near Registan. We stayed at Shahram Plus SH for one night, with a short extension, and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent. It is in a quiet local neighborhood, just a short walking distance from Registan Square, the mausoleums, and the nearby bazaar. It feels peaceful and authentic while still being very convenient for sightseeing. The courtyard is beautiful and traditional, with a charming and authentic design that reflects the local culture. Our room was very large and spacious, easily accommodating three guests. It was beautifully decorated, well heated, and also equipped with air conditioning. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices, which is always appreciated while traveling. The bathroom was spacious and included a large bathtub and a western-style toilet. Free drinking water is available in the basement kitchen area, though guests need to bring their own bottles or cups. One thing we especially appreciated was the generosity of the staff. We explained that we had booked a night train departing after midnight and asked if a later check-out would be possible. They kindly offered us a much later check-out so we could relax and freshen up before heading to the station. We truly appreciated this flexibility. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay and treated us like part of their family. Breakfast was also very good. The dishes were local, freshly made, filling, and delicious. A couple small notes for future guests: the toilet paper may not meet Western European standards, so you may wish to be prepared. Also, the beds are quite firm. If you are a side sleeper, the firmness may take some adjustment. Aside from these minor points, the rest of our stay was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel for its location, authentic atmosphere, and the incredible service from the entire staff.
