The Bell Inn Hotel

If you’re looking for overpriced bang average then you’ve found it. The building itself looks, at first sight, to be great and those are the images you see on the website. When you park your car you find that you are in a rundown pay and play pitch and putt golf car park and the entrance to the hotel is at the back of the building which looks more like a Harvester on its last legs and has loads of noisy and smelly extractor fans blasting hot air out which makes the whole place smell like a greasy spoon. The bedroom was shabby and had a huge TV screwed to the wall which blocked the wardrobe and the whole thing looked like something out of 60 Minute Makeover if the designer had to do the whole thing on a 60p budget and blindfolded. The food was passable and the staff tried to make the best of it. It looks like what it is - a once great country inn which has been bought by a company who want to make money but don’t have a clue. Save your money and go to one of the other many much better hotels in the area.

So glad we booked the Bell Inn for a quick stop in the New Forest. The room was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Having travelled all around the UK on a visit from Australia this was our last stop and the best bathroom of the entire trip!

The staff were the best parts about our weekend. From the get-go they were so kind, wonderful and ensured that our stay was pleasant. The room was very comfortable and perfect for a couple and a dog.

Could be so much better. Fantastic location but feels like a travel lodge inside which made it very expensive. Didn't like how it was laid out with a large bar plonked in the middle of the restaurant. The lounge looked nice but no fire burning and no-one using it while we were there. We arrived early for a pre-dinner drink and were taken to our table, not directed to the lounge and had to ask if there was somewhere else we could sit. Room was nice but needed a good spring-clean. Bed was excellent, v comfortable. Also had a huge flat-screen tv which would be great for a longer stay.

We, as a family, have just spent the most amazing weekend at the Bell Inn for our daughter’s wedding. From the time we arrived on Saturday the staff were friendly, attentive and professional. The room was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The food was amazing and the service great. Throughout the weekend everything we asked for when we booked were carried out and provided to a high standard. I cannot thank all the staff at the Bell Inn for making this such an enjoyable and memorable celebration. You all deserve five stars.

Travelled to the New Forest with my wife for a stay to celebrate our Anniversary and also to visit family who live in the area. Nice Hotel in a lovely setting in the New Forest. Breakfast choice was vast and very enjoyable. We were served by Katie at dinner and she was very cheerful and helpful and had a fair knowledge of the surrounding area. We will be returning in the new year as our Neice is getting married in April and we will be looking for somewhere to stay.

Stayed in this lovely little hotel in the New Forest. Clean decent sized room with coffee and tea facilities. Staff are lovely, polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend booking with Laura for a massage.

Great value, good room and dinner, plus lovely service from the team. It’s a convenient stop but right in the New Forest too… cows in the road and a herd of pigs ran squealing past while we were in the beer garden. Made our day.

This was a lovely place to visit great location friendly staff good food and service…however I was put in a room over the bar and function room..room 11…came for rest and relaxation after an op but sadly got no sleep as the music was on from 8 am until 11 pm.. so through breakfast service until bar stopped at 11 pm…The day we left was a wedding in the function room so would have been even later! 2nd night reception staff came up and agreed was very noisy in my room so turned music down (10.30pm) and 3rd night had to go down at around 9pm and receptionist was lovely explained my room was over bar and function room and turned the speakers off in the function room ..which was better…property is old and floorboards to room 11 (my room)…are right above the ceiling….so sadly very tired! No sleep but hotel itself was lovely and so were staff.
