On my bucket list for decades was a visit to the storied Lakes District of England and for my 78th birthday, my dream was realized with a trip to Lindeth Fell Guest House. If I could give them more than five stars, I would. They helped me celebrate my life in the most glorious way! A breathtaking beauty, this elegant Edwardian home – nestled into a lush hillside of century-old rhododendrons, azaleas, and expansive deciduous and evergreen trees – offered me the perfect place to settle in for a week of pleasurable memories. Lindeth Fell’s amazing personnel outdid themselves to make every detail of my itinerary come to life. Their caring hospitality knew no bounds as they solved issues from the routine (the Chef leant me his power cord) to the truly unexpected (the currency I brought with me was no longer accepted). I was presented on the morning of my birthday with a song, a lovely card signed by all the staff, and a gift bag of beautiful and practical souvenirs that I can and still use at home, in Colorado. The restaurant’s waiter, who was on a summer break from University of St. Andrew’s in Edinburgh Scotland, charmed me with delightful conversations, while ensuring all my needs were met before I departed each day to explore the wealth of beauty and history throughout the region. As I said good-bye, the concierge presented me with a puzzle box of Lindeth Fell that I have pieced together, framed, and put on my wall as a reminder of one of the most memorable times of my life. I will never forget my experience at Lindeth Fell Guest House and recommend it to anyone who desires the most fulfilling vacation imaginable.
