Bowburn Hall Hotel

We were overwhelmed by the friendly staffs and the rooms are decent, clear and modern. Shower is strong and hot, the surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. I am happy to have chosen the Bowburn Hall Hotel.

I had been wanting to try the fish n chip offer which is 2 for £18 - includes peas of your choice, bread n butter and hot drink - for a while now. This is on Fridays at the time 12-5 I believe now extended. You do need to check with hotel as some Fridays it is not on as private events at hotel. We managed a Friday we were both free and wow pleased we did I am not sure why the hotel is using the photo on their leaflet as it does not do their fish n chips justice - they were much better in person!!! Tasted lovely , white fish and plentiful. Service was great, staff very nice asked several times if needed anything else. Drinks were good. For £9 each this was amazing! Taking my daughter today can see it becoming a regular occurrence Check first the offer is on if you wanting fish n chips as not on every Friday.

Came in to go through details of our upcoming wedding. The staff at this venue really go above and beyond for you. We had my toddler with us and they made sure to make a fuss of her and brought her some colouring etc. after our wedding appointment we stayed and had a Sunday Roast, we were a table of 5 - veg is served in dishes in the centre of the table & the food was plentiful and tasty. Service was above and beyond.

The room was lovely, with a beautiful and well-appointed bathroom. It was a little warm, so we had to open the window. Although a wedding occurred in the hotel, we weren’t disturbed by the noise. The bar offers a good selection of beers, and we had dinner there. The service was good, and the food was typical pub fare. My only criticism is that the electric charging points were not working, and the reception staff didn’t know how to resolve the issue.

We dropped in to this quant little hotel this evening for a meal. The ambiance in the restaurant is very relaxed All the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable and special. We were served immediately upon arriving at the bar for drinks . We ordered the mussels and garlic prawns to start both were absolute beautiful! For mains we both ordered the 10oz T-bone steaks medium rare! They both came out perfect, portions size was very large. We will definitely be returning and highly recommended to anyone looking to have a beautiful meal.

Stayed at Bowburn Hall for 3 nights. The welcome we received was lovely. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and clean (the pillows were to die for never had such comfy ones in any other hotel. In fact Im ordering one now I'm home). Housekeeping looked after us so well with fresh towels every day replenished toiletries very pleasant lady. The food was very good only criticism was our first breakfast was cold we told the staff and they immediately took it away and brought another which was hot, Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 18/8/24 for 2 night stay in one of the lodges. Lodge was very well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The spa bath and shower are excellent. The veranda at front is spacious but unfortunately had not been cleaned at all. There was large bird droppings splashed on the veranda table and outside of the large floor to ceiling window. This was unsightly and meant we couldn’t use the veranda table. The restaurant is really good, evening meal on first night and breakfast on first morning were outstanding. Sadly the second morning the breakfast was disappointing. We both had eggs Benedict where all 4 poached eggs were hard yolk. We also had afternoon tea which was very nice and well worth the money. Despite the niggles re veranda cleanliness and the second morning breakfast I would nevertheless recommend staying here and will definitely stay again.

Came for Sunday lunch. Roast potatoes looked like they'd just been chucked in the oven rather than made from scratch. Lumpy mashed potato, and I didn't touch the rest of the veg as the mashed turnip (at least I THINK it was mashed turnip) didn't look too grand, neither did the cabbage/peas combo. Yorkshire puddings weren't fresh, it was chewy and had clearly just been reheated. Drinks glasses were filthy, with the remnants of someone else's lipstick clearly still visible. The specials menu seemed appealing, only to be told that the Sunday lunches had to be sold before I could order something from it - and that hadn't been made clear from the menu itself. I mean, how hard is it to cook a burger????Go somewhere else - you'll get much better food for your money. Expected better standards than this.

We decided to go here for Sunday Lunch yesterday as a family of 4. We left it a bit late (5:30 pm) but Sunday Roast was still being served, so we rightly could have expected the same quality as would be served earlier in the day..... Ordered drinks at the bar (all soft drinks) then sat at our table. One of the glasses was really dirty around the rim, so I took it back and the drink was changed - fair enough, these things happen. We then had lunch. It was OK but not really up to the standard we expected (probably because it was towards the end of lunch service), meat was dry, yorkshire puddings hard, and the side vegetables "mushy". To be fair, they tasted ok, despite being visually unappealing, so food was acceptable. Anyway.... by now the condensation had subsided from our other drinks and to our horror we saw that the rims of two out of the three glasses were also dirty. I asked to see the bar manager to advise him politely and show him that 3 of our 4 drinks were served in dirty glasses. He agreed , removed 2 drinks from our bill and said that he would look into the operation of the glass washer. Now it may be that the problem might be restricted to soft drink glasses, but for the moment... CHECK YOUR DRINKS GLASSES !!
