Kensington Hotel

The manageress started all this off charging extortionate prices absolute rip off she turned round to the proprietor and said charge what you want or they can go somewhere else I know them well stayed a few times they was charging £45 a night per person then the manageress spoiled it by being greedy no breakfast and the bedding not even clean unacceptable the hotel has got so much potential with the car park and it's location but everyone has giving up.

I stayed for 12 nights and was thoroughly satisfied with my stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcome. My room had everything I needed for my stay and the hotel was quiet at night and had great sleep throughout my stay. I recommend highly.

The place had a damp dusty smell. Beds had stains over them. Dirty tissue left in the window sill. Hair from previous visitors on the carpets and toilet sink. No shampoos or other amenities. Pillows were dirty and had stains on them. Rooms were very outdated and I saw bed bugs on the headboard which really put me on edge when trying to sleep. Overall the place was absolutely disgusting and I wouldn’t stay there again for free. Luckily the room was paid on the company card else I’d be demanding the money back. It needs shutting down.

The CAT was sleeping on my bed and they said it’s fine, it’s their neighbours cat and nothing they can do. I have asthma and allergy for cats. The room itself is so TINY you can’t move. Water is COLD, everything is very OLD and DIRTY. We asked to change the room but they didn’t. We just left, they promised to do refund but never did. The person in charge doesn’t even speak English. I’ve never seen the hotel and the service like this in my life.

Expected bed bugs as the price was so cheap, instead had 2 different men knocking on the door gone 22:30 demanding access. Tried to call the number we were told to ring 24/7 to get the owner to help (we were 2 women alone so felt vulnerable with this) and the call went straight to voicemail. Packed our bags quick and exited in the middle of the night as by this point we were scared!

We arrived in Bournemouth, somewhere we had never been before to find our hotel wanted our payment in cash. So we had to walk around a place we did not know to locate a cash machine. The first two were not working. And when we finally found one it was charging £1.99 for the pleasure of taking out our money! The room was nice enough but the bed clothes were stained. The shower was dodgy and difficult to operate. The shower base had no anti-slip mat in place, both myself and my partner nearly slipped over many times so it was dangerous. The tea and coffee facilities consisted of tiny team cups (not mugs) and there was no glass for cold drinks. We had to ask for more UHT milk as we did not have much given. Then we had to contend with a noisy neighbour who liked to watch his television full-volume at 04:00am!!! Disappointing stay to be honest and will not be booking again. Bournemouth was nice but very expensive and if we did not have national trust and English heritage memberships, we would not have been able to go out for days either.
