Travelodge Bournemouth Cooper Dean

Basic but adequate for a couple of nights. Fortunately there is a garage next door with Budgens supermarket and a Burger King as the Toby Carvery was only accepting bookings which I found odd for a Tuesday. The location was a mixed bag, very easy to find and just off the main road. However, right next to the hospital so be prepared for sirens at all times. With the windows closed this was not an issue. My room was on the top floor and there is no lift. It could have done with a refresh as there were a lot of marks on the walls. There is also no air con, but a fan was provided. My biggest concern was no plug sockets by the bed, only usb ports. That's fine if you just want to charge your phone, but I have medical equipment I needed to plug in. I went to ask for an extension lead, which after a phone call to someone not on duty and questions as to why I needed it, one was located for me. The only plug sockets were the other side of the room so I had to be careful of the trip hazard this created. Neither the fan or extension lead were PAT tested and the kettle was due its PAT. The bathroom had no window (due to location) and no extraction, consequently it steamed up a lot and became quite smelly. Cleaning is not done during your visit, though you can request clean towels. I don't mind this, but then they should at least provide a toilet brush. No glasses in the bathroom, so I used the coffee mug and only a dispenser with soap by the sink and one in the shower with combined shower gel/shampoo. The shower itself was of a good temperature and okay pressure. The bed was comfy with good pillows and bedding. With the window closed to block the noise and the fan directly on me I did sleep well. It was okay for a single person for a couple of nights, but I wouldn't want to stay with my family or for any longer.

We have to say this is the best travel lodge we have ever stayed in. The decor was really luxurious and the room was spacious.. Very comfortable beds and a great size bathroom..

I had a few moments of feeling totally inadequate when it was discovered that I had reserved the room on-line - and paid for it - only for it to be the wrong date. I had also travelled over 100 miles to be there. So it's fair to say that my stress levels increased substantially!! However, once Abu (Manager) became involved, he easily changed the booking, I paid the small difference, and had a wonderful night's sleep to boot! Great friendly staff, good clean Travelodge and easy to find. I might even return!
