We booked 3 rooms at Plas Dinas Country House under the impression there was a family wedding taking place at the venue. I had multiple conversations with staff over the months — even discussing the evening meals and the schedule for the day — and was repeatedly reassured that they were aware of the wedding, had been to planning meetings for it, and were fully prepared. It turns out, there was no wedding scheduled there at all. The real issue? I had mistakenly booked Plas Dinas instead of Plas Dinah — an easy and understandable error. But I had booked 3 months in advance. The staff knew all along that no such event was happening at their venue, and instead of clarifying the confusion or reaching out, they chose to stay quiet and only informed me the night before — far too late to cancel or get a refund. I feel completely misled. They knowingly let me proceed with the booking under false pretences, which resulted in a £1,000 loss for rooms I didn’t need. No refund was offered, no accountability taken. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable — I would strongly advise others to be cautious.
