The Editory Artist Baixa Porto Hotel

I had a great experience at this hotel. It was beautifully decorated with artistic elements and colorful schemes. The name of the hotel is largely displayed but you do have to be directly in front of the building to identify it. The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant. I received a complimentary drink on entry which was a pleasant treat for my birthday. I felt completely welcomed. They answered any of my questions and made accommodations, such as giving me a universal charger when I needed one. My room was a great size for one person but it would still be comfortable with 2 people. The room was cleaned every day and I even received a sweet treat :). I didn’t really like the shower design because I did I have to step over into the tub through a small opening (I could easily slip). However, that was a minor issue which could have probably been accommodated if I requested it. The food was decent. I did appreciate the buffet style, with a variation of food items. The hotel is located perfectly to nearby restaurants, stores, and attractions. I had the opportunity to save money by walking to most places. If I needed an Uber (highly recommend using as a transportation), I didn’t have to wait too long. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

A beautiful period hotel with unique artefacts and decor But still with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere The whole staff were so friendly and helpful with tips and advice And always on hand with whatever we needed We also really appreciated being able to use the lovely outdoor terrace at the sister hotel Which provided a welcome respite from the city Breakfast was good and plentiful but after a few days Would maybe like more variety of options The hotel is conveniently situated in a quiet part of the city but also within easy walking distance of the centre I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return

We stayed here for 4 nights and have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. It's in a quiet location, but not too from the main places of interest, restaurants and shops. The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean. We hope to return to Porto one day, and would stay at The Editory Artist!

Hotel is very clean but had a smell in the common hallway. The room got really hot, had to completely turned off the fan unit and opened the windows. Hotel staff was very helpful to where the recommended attractions to go to. What restaurants and what type of local food they had at the different restaurants. Great to have bottle water provided each day.

Beautiful property with lovely artworks everywhere. The rooms are large and well equipped. The restaurant in the adjoining property facing the garden is very nice. Very helpful staff and very friendly. Location is just off the Ekterina street.

We had initially booked to stay at The Editory Garden Hotel next door but were upgraded to a room at the adjoining Editory Artist due to an issue with our room at the first hotel. On check-in we received a glass of port and a pastel de nata each, a lovely treat! All the staff we spoke with were lovely, so welcoming and helpful. We didn't have breakfast or dinner at the hotel but we were pleased to learn that the courtyard advertised at The Editory Gardens was where breakfast was served, a lovely quiet area to hide away from the biz of the city. We enjoyed a complimentary port here on our last evening. The location of the hotel suited us fine. Although on the outskirts of the city centre, you could be on Rue Santa Caterina within around 5-10 minutes where there are lots of shops and cafes. The hotel itself is in a much quieter, local part of the city but it meant there was no street noise and we slept well. We used Uber one evening to return to the hotel after dinner as the hotel is up quite a steep hill and the cobbled streets get slippery if it has rained - take good walking trainers in case of rain! Our room was really spacious and fitted with all the commodities we needed, there were just a few maintenance issues which gave it more of a 4 star feel than 5 star. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Porto, we had a great time and would certainly come back.
