Incompetent food purchasing has ruined the guest experience at this formerly excellent hotel, unbelievably, at one stage the kitchen had no bread at all, and so could not serve a Club sandwich, and throughout my stay there was never any brown bread, though I continually requested it. The menu is huge, but they are unable to serve about 75% of the dishes, the French onion soup was appallingly bad, brown gloop with undercooked onion dropped into it instead of being made with onion gently cooked until it caramelizes. Breakfast quality was variable, lovely pineapple and fresh pineapple juice the first day, no pineapple the next day, and only watermelon on the third day, only rice crispies and cornflakes, both full of sugar, whereas they used to have muesli before. The wine list is a joke, a vast selection even including about eight different champagnes, none of which were actually stocked, in fact they had hardly any wines, the two white wines were not chilled, so I decide to order a pina colada, but guess what, they had no coconut milk.
