I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Motel 6-Airport in Boise, Idaho, and I want to warn potential guests about their deceptive business practices. I made an online reservation on June 6, 2024, with the following details: Check-in: Friday, June 21, 2024 Check-out: Sunday, June 23, 2024 Number of adults: 3 Number of children: 0 Number of rooms: 1 Room description: 2 Queen Beds Premium Amenities: a refrigerator and a microwave Total w/tax: $203.38 USD After traveling 7 hours, I arrived at the motel at 7 PM on June 21, 2024. The front desk clerk informed me that my reservation had been canceled because my credit card was allegedly declined. This explanation made no sense, as I had used a credit card with a $5000 balance. The clerk offered me another room but at a higher rate and without the microwave and refrigerator I had requested. He mentioned that their manager runs all credit cards at 6 PM for guests who haven't checked in yet and cancels reservations if the cards are declined. He claimed this happened to me and five other guests. There was no information about this policy when I made the reservation. Had I known, I would have called ahead to inform them of my late arrival. This practice seems like a bait and switch tactic. Another guest next to me confirmed that he experienced the same issue and had to pay more for another room. Later, I encountered another woman with three children who faced the same problem, with the clerk claiming her credit card was also declined. Feeling tired and frustrated, I reluctantly agreed to take the higher-priced room without the requested amenities. I then called Motel 6 customer service to file a complaint. The operator helped me book another room at Motel 6 Meridian and advised the clerk not to charge my card since no actual payment had been made yet. However, the clerk refused to cancel the charge and instead had me fill out a form for a refund, stating that his manager would need to approve it. While I was at the front desk, another woman arrived with a similar complaint about her reservation being canceled due to a declined credit card. I provided her with the customer service number and encouraged her to report her experience as well. This experience was highly frustrating and disappointing. The deceptive practices and poor customer service at Motel 6-Airport in Boise, Idaho, are unacceptable. I urge anyone considering staying here to reconsider and look for alternative accommodations.

The WORST place I have ever stayed. We walked in, I immediately noticed stains on the walls, blood splatter on the ceiling and police outside. The front desk people were nice but we ended up getting a new place to stay 10 minutes after being there. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

This 76 is not "soup to nuts" but is a good choice for the area. They have a foundation of amenities for people like truckers... specifically they have a great laundry room, areas to park rigs, rooms that are small, but reasonably appointed. I will describe two experiences that IMO cancel out and make this place a very good alternative for this area. They were doing door renavations and it was done half assed. Smoke filled the rooms, no barrier... Just a mess. Their justification was that each room took 20 minutes. It should have been done more professionally with a barrier put up. On the other hand, this place has a great pet policy, in an area that has multiple establishments that gouge pet owners... with fees of 20 bucks per a dog, per a night! * This place has a decent price point and the staff is pleasant to deal with. On the whole I love 76 establishments as a kind of "hail mary" where, even if you didn't book with a 3rd party, you can get a room at a decent price that is clean. *Keep in mind that @20 dollers a pet, you are paying around 50-80 bucks a room! The pet fee should not be 1/3rd the price of the room! That would be like getting a Denny's meal for 45 bucks and having a 15 dollar tip automatically added.

Booked a room here through ***********, which I've used for years with no issues. The "pay when you arrive" and "no fee for cancellations" apparently doesn't apply with THIS Motel 6, which charged me even after my fuel pump broke down en route to the airport. Had to sleep in my car with no T Mobile signal in the area and then deal with catching ride to airport and didn't even have time to think about this motel until I saw their charges 2 days later. I've now spent a total of 3 hours over 3 weeks trying to get this charge removed. The "managers" on site never bothered returning any of my calls, and even after *********** and Motel 6 National requested that the charge be removed, they refused. The only response I got from them (via the national office) was that I was a liar about not having service (see map attached “There’s plenty of service between Riggins and Boise”. Yeah right!), which is a pretty horrible accusation to make. The national office had to cut me a check since the local office refused to refund my credit card, which means it'll take up to 30 days to get reimbursed for not staying at this motel. I'm a disabled single mom on a fixed income. This charge plus the unexpected car repairs and overdraft fees from my bank has destroyed me for the month. And for what? To steal from future customers and call them liars? If they're doing that to me, they'll do it to you, too. If you die before checking in, they'll make your family give them a death certificate before they remove charges, and even then they'll probably still deny it. Imagine how they treat people who DO show up! Boo on you, Boise Motel 6. I wouldn't wish you on my worst enemy. If you're looking for a motel near the airport, this isn't your only choice. Find some decent business to patronize, y'all! Boise is usually an extremely friendly town. Management must be transplants from you-know-where.
