Nice new hotel. Staff (and the dog) was great. Heating in the new building seems to be a problem. Breakfast was great, room also.

Hotel ist relativ neu, sauber und gut gelegen. Service ist ebenfalls gut und unkompliziert. Außerdem stimmt das Preis/Leistungsverhälnis.
Ich werde es weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren hier für ein Konzert, also war das Personal sehr ausgelastet und das Zimmer das wir reserviert hatten war nicht fertig. Allerdings haben wir ein anderes bekommen und einen Getränkegutschein als Entschädigung. Die Lage war sehr gut. Als wir vom Konzert zurück kamen war das Parkhaus schon geschlossen (ab 0:00), was sehr ärgerlich war. Das Frühstück war gut.

The service at the hotel was pretty poor. There was a sign in the room saying that daily housekeeping was not available for sustainability reasons (which is fine). However, there was no housekeeping at all over a stay of four nights.
In addition, one evening, I wanted to get a drink from the hotel bar, which is greatly advertised on the hotel website. Coming downstairs, I saw signs saying that they could only offer limited service due to staffing problems (again, this is fine in principle, although it could have been announced in advance). However, when I asked one of the three (!) gentlemen working at the front desk whether I could have anything to drink, they said that they were too busy and that I should check out a restaurant across the street from the hotel.
The breakfast was okay.
Overall, this experience was quite poor. The hotel advertises amenities on their website that they don’t provide. With the lack of any form of housekeeping, I really wonder why the rooms were so expensive. So, not recommended, and I won’t come back.

We didn't even end up staying here but we did arrive and take a look around. I guess it was our mistake by not doing enough research but the area around the hotel was full of construction and not exactly close to the upscale or historic vibe we were looking for. Lots of graffiti covered buildings in the immediate vicinity. Ended up staying closer to the Veltins Arena, which was the reason we were even in town. Not bashing on the hotel in any way because we never went inside but do your research so you're not surprised.

The hotel is in the centre of Bochum, exit the hotel and you are in the centre. Parking is underneath the hotel in a public garage for an acceptable daily rate. Beds great, but the bedlinnen for a double bed is so small that one person is left out in the cold. Hotel is brand new. Loved the hotel. Breakfast great except the juices. Friendly staff. What needs improvement: The mentioned bed linnen / covers. The hotel needs to do something about that. I do not know what kind of "juice" comes out of the machine at breakfast, but you really cannot call this orange juice.

Great rooms and comfortable too. Very good choice at breakfast. Parking was easy with direct access to the hotel and compared with other hotels in Bochum the Holiday Inn Express is good value and very new. The staff whilst new were all very helpful and friendly.
