spent a one night stay here in July 2024. Booked 2 rooms 1 family and 1 double for the price we paid was a steal. Rooms were ok, slightly falling apart but clean. upon arrival no one to meet us at reception, despite a good looking bar which was closed, yet advertised as open 10am to midnight, this was 6pm, very odd? Once we were checked in I enquired about breakfast and was told served between 9am and 10am, bit odd again as this was mid week. still I like a lay in and having suffered a fracture to my back in June 2024, was Ideal for us. Next day, went down for breakfast at 9am, again bar & restaurant was closed no sign of life, had to ring the mobile number on the door of the entrance hall wall, eventually got an answer having tried a few times to be told, they are not serving breakfast this week. Again for an advertised B&B very odd. still a 10minute walk to sea front is a Wetherspoons so we were not that bothered. On checking out at 10am, i was 30mins along the M55 southbound when I remembered I left my Orthopaedic pillow inside the bed room. I quickly telephoned the mobile number i had rung before and explained what I had done. Man on the other end said, yes we have already found your pillow (£35.00 paid for after i was discharged from Hospital) Man said I can arrange a courier to collect it. I said, actually we are returning end of August albeit not to this B&B, but if it can be kept i will collect on 30th August. Man told me he will label it up and put it in his Lost Property, he gave me his name as Alexandro, forgive me if spelling is incorrect. I returned as said on 30th August, lady was sat behind the bar on a stall upon my arrival and another male was present stood at the bar, both had staff polo tops with name of hotel on them, sadly I didn't get either names. I informed them why i was there, they claimed no one of the name of the person I spoke with worked at this hotel. I advised he had found my pillow and described it, I showed the number I called and they claimed it belonged to a person called Enrique, they also said he has not been in work this week, and that they don't even have a lost property, again very odd for a B&B that is not exactly a small hotel. I had to prompt the lady to look for my pillow, she said we only have a cleaning cupboard but would go and look, she came back moments later and said there is nothing there, the male at the bar seemed to make a phone, i thought he was helping by calling this man Enrique, but he wasn't he was arranging some other business. I asked if they could call him or find out who Alexandro was and she said no. he doesn't exist, and clearly they were not too bothered about my lost Item i was told by someone working there it had been found. clearly a lot to desire for the customer experience. based on this and the dated room, i wont be returning and I trust the owner of this establishment cares enough to give staff better training and better facilities for customers who do fo
