Ibis Budget Birmingham Centre

Cheapest budget hotel (for three guests) with reasonably good reviews I could find in Trip. Service staff were helpful. Downers are the sewage smells that emanated from the sink whenever someone showered from above. Not soundproof; noise made by inconsiderate guests could be heard from the corridor and the floor above. Shower area is like a capsule but its door is avant garde, with a hole in place of a door knob.

Perfect for solo trips!

Pretty close to the City Centre - maybe about 12-15 mins walk from New Street station. Location was good, small stores close by and the price was certainly good for the December dates we stayed in. The room itself was nice, the bed was big but the bathroom was real tiny as in I could touch both sides of the walls easy (but honestly we preferred to pay less than pay extra £100 for another hotel in the same area) so it was no big problem for us; we managed it okay. There was no kettle in the room but you can get hot water anytime downstairs near the breakfast bar. We also asked to change rooms as there was a disruptive guest on our first night and they gave us a quiet corner room for the next night! We did manage to leave our suitcases with the front desk for £2 on the checkout day so we were not lugging bags around until our train back at 5pm. Overall, it is as the name says, its good if you are on a budget and don't mind small toilet and bathroom. The room was clean, the staff helpful and we had all the basics :)

I did not like the location. Staff at another Ibis gave me grossly misleading directions to the Ibis Budget- it was nowhere near Tesco or even behind it.

Clean, near the centre ( china town, bull ring), comfortable beds, microwave in the lobby for food from the Tesco market across the street, nice staff, pleasant stay.

The room is clean and the location is good. Staff was very friendly
