Didn't look the cleanest or best of maintained places from the first view of the entrance. Reception is on the upper ground floor. Reception is in the restaurant, and at the far end, so when you're trying to enjoy food, people are constantly coming in and out and making noise. Not what I wanted when I'd been up since 4:30am, driven 3 hours, and then done a full day's work and now trying to relax in the restaurant. That brings me to the food itself. The options on the main menu are pizza, pizza, and, you guessed it, more pizza. The base was soooo tomatoey, that I had to leave just under half of it. I'd also had a side of garlic bread and portion of chilli cheese nachos, which were delicious. Happy hour drinks were 2 for £7. Had a couple of ciders. Now, the room. Haha. Sooooo..... got in the room and went for a pee, and I was greeted with a toilet seat that was about to fall off. The lino up against the bath was peeling away. The hot water took about 2 mins before it actually ran warm. Went to shut the window as it was cold, and was greeted by a handle that was about 1 turn of a screwdriver away from falling off the window. Luckily, I had my tools on me, as I'm away on business. So I tightened the toilet seat, and tightened the screws on the handle for the window. This still didn't muffle the noise from the main road and busy roundabout outside my window, as part of the window that makes sure the handle and window closes tight, was missing. Kept waking up all night. This is the first time I've stayed in a travel lodge, and unfortunately won't be my last. We normally use premier inn and they are far superior in terms of maintenance and restaurant food options.
