Big Bear Lake Front Lodge

Self service Breakfast available. Room is a bit old but clean, my room has a lake view is a plus for my stay!

The bed is comfortable and has a super nice lake view, but the room is relatively small, and not suitable for a big family. Simple breakfast: coffee, waffle, etc.

The good reviews have to be fake. This place is absolutely disgusting. Do not book here. The staff is horrible. The accommodations are absolutely filthy. It is clear that housekeeping does not change or clean the rooms after or between each guest.

Don't book here. Their staff is rude and have no idea how to do their job. I asked a question staff told me one thing then said they would have to call owner and would call me back. They never did call back and I had to chase them down and when I did I was told the complete opposite. The reviews are terrible about on-site anyway so definitely skip this place. There are better lodges in the area for similar price. I was able to go to a competitor and get MUCH better service. this place has lost a customer forever.

Lake view was amazing. They have a dock, so you can pull your boat up! Clean, very inexpensive and quiet lodge. They serve a small continental breakfast every morning. Great coffee by the way! There is still snow, and watching the kids build a snow person was just cute!

The bedroom was not soundproof at all, we were actually woken up by the next bedroom's alarm. Also, in the morning we wanted to have free breakfast (one of the reasons we booked this hotel), and the main office was closed after 8 am. We had to head to the ski resort and have breakfast somewhere else.

We spent one night in a lake front room. We had pretty low expectations because so many people wrote horrible reviews, but it was a clean room, looked the same as the pictures. Having a fireplace was awesome. The fridge was great to have. Our balcony looked at the lake and it snowed overnight and it was such a delight to wake up to snow on the balcony. Bathroom was a-ok, except the tub seemed to have stains on it, it should probably be repainted and the shower water pressure was really poor, so the filters probably need to be changed. Beds were comfortable, pillows were fine. The front office was really nice. The coffee and breakfast was fine, pre-packaged pastries, cereal, coffee, OJ, milk, could use more protein so children don't lose their minds after breakfast. Parking was easy. Because of the snow and ice the walkways were pretty slippery, I would recommend for safety that they clear and salt everything so no one risks falling. Overall a really great stay with fine accommodations and a couple of things they could do to improve the overall experience. Thanks!

I held off for a long time to write this review hoping that it didn’t have to be all negative but at this point I have no choice. The hotel allowed me to change my dates and I really appreciated that, but it has been all down hill from there. 11/9/2023 my son and I stayed here for 1 night for a small stay-cations. We were THE ONLY PEOPLE staying at the hotel that night and they still did not give us a lake front room. The rate I paid was more than being advertised for a lake front room that night. The guy at the office said the owner would get mad if he changed us to one. Next they put a $115.00 hold on my credit card that is still pending on my account as of today 12/8/2023 and no one at the property returns my emails, calls, or can tell me why my money has not been released. Today I spoke to the accountant, Laura who told me this is the first she is hearing about it. she was incredibly rude, talked over me the whole call, wouldn’t let me talk, hung up on me 3 times when I asked to please speak with the owner. Something strikes me very wrong with the call today and the fact that she was so quick to get off the phone and would not provide me at least an email or number for the manager/owner. Please believe the amount of negative reviews please people. The beach in front is dirty and unkept, the rooms are old and beds are not comfortable, and the customer service is not good. If you value your money…stay somewhere else! I’ll be reporting them to the BBB today as well. As you can see in the pictures they provide the beach front is grass and clean and well kept, water looks clear, doc looks well kept. In my actual picture there is no grass, sand area is dirty and not kept up, water is not clean at all and not somewhere you can get in the water. Doc is old and questionable.

Laurie the owner was amazing. She was very helpful in recommending amazing food spots and activities. You are located a short walking distance to the village and an even shorter walk to the lake. The rooms were nice and clean and updated. Would definitely recommend staying here for future trips. We will be back. 10/10 for our weekend trip stay at the Big Bear lakefront lodge.
