The Nanee

Great stay. Lovely hotel in cultural Bhaktapur. Great complimentary tour. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely restaurant. Highly recommended this hotel for an enjoyable stay. It is located within walking distance to the squares of Bhaktapur.

The Nanee or little courtyard is A real gem in bhaktapur. It’s in the old part of town very close to the temples and sights. The rooms are modern and sleek but with character. Got all the creature comforts one is looking for. There is a stylish but modern funky restaurant featuring local and international dishes and a lovely courtyard to enjoy a drink after returning from sightseeing. On the street front is a very cute 2 table restaurant, where a lovely local lady cooks for. Try some of her treats. The staff are amazing, can’t do enough for you and it is always delivered with a smile. Do your self a favour and stay at the Nanee!

Excellent hotel. The staff are welcoming, warm and friendly. Very willing to accommodate any requirements their guests may have. The food was delicious. Standard of accommodation is extremely high and shows a willingness to acknowledge green awareness.

Absolutely amazing hotel. Loved the decor, super fantastic location 2 min walk from old town and room was comfortable and very clean. Highly recommend this hotel breakfast was super delicious and staff was very very friendly . All in all I would rate it 5 stars!

Right in the heart of Bhaktapur, which is also in the middle of Kathmandu Valley, The Nanee is perfectly located to not only explore Bhaktapur - which requires 2-3 days -, but also for a day tri to Patan or Kathmandu or Nagarkot. So peaceful that I run away back to Bhaktapur happily to escape traffic, pollution and noise in Kathmandu. The Nanee offers a mix of traditional Newari culture in a modern design and comfort. The staff are all warm and sincerely caring. The hotels offers a series of experiences to meet the local artisans around the community - wood carving, traditional paper, mustard seeds oil, cultural walks...- I stayed 3 days but it was too short.

I cannot say enough good things about The Nanee (the little courtyard). This boutique hotel offers 18 clean, spacious and well-appointed rooms overlooking the inner courtyard or the charming street front. The hotel prides itself on being a participating member of the surrounding community and it shows. A member of the staff will gladly spend an hour walking around the neighborhood with you and explaining some of its traditions and customs. As wonderful as the hotel is it's the staff that takes it to another level. I wish I could name everyone who I interacted with, but I'll leave it to four -- Umesh Dural, the Duty Manager, Bidur Timalsina, F&B Supervisor, and Kusum Suwal and Roshna Subedi, both GSAs. All are true professionals as well as genuinely warm and kind people. The restaurant is excellent, so if you are not fortunate enough to book a room, at least treat yourself to dinner. There is a nice small dining room, but if it's a pretty night the street level courtyard can't be beat. I would travel to Nepal just to stay at The Nanee -- it's that special. One caveat -- if you're a light sleeper you may want to request a room overlooking the courtyard. The neighborhood dogs are quiet and calm during the day, but tend to take on a safety patrol attitude in the early morning hours.
