Marramarra cancelled my booking in January the day before we were due to stay and again in April after taking full payment amounting to thousands of $$. They have promised a refund for over a month and are now ignoring emails and calls. Outside of losing financially, I can't believe the dishonesty of re-booking our dates and taking the full payment, knowing they never intended to accommodate our stay. This was supposed to be a rare and hard earned celebratory weekend that has ended up as a nightmare. A complete scam and I am still in disbelief that they are allowed to treat people this way.

Be Cautious Before Working Here I worked as a chef at Marramarra Lodge and unfortunately, my experience aligns with many of the negative reviews already shared. I was not paid in full for my work, and despite following up multiple times, I’m still waiting for the outstanding payment. Communication has been poor, and there’s been no indication that the matter will be resolved. The working environment was highly stressful, with poor management practices and a lack of support. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this as a workplace.

Personal Testimony – Unpaid Wages for 4 Weeks of Work My name is Matthieu Arthuis, and this review reflects my personal experience as an employee at Marramarra Lodge (operated by P & F Hurley Pty Ltd). I started working at the lodge on 6 February 2025 as a housekeeper and general maintenance worker. However, I was never paid for the four full weeks worked between 19 February and 16 March 2025, totaling 174.75 hours and $6,116.25 gross. Greg Walker, who presents himself as the manager, stated — in his own words, I quote: “I have full authority by the owner and directors” and “I am authorised to set all budgets including staff wages and contracts.” With these words, he clearly identified himself as responsible for managing staff wages. Yet, none of his commitments were fulfilled. I have also not received the payslip covering that work period. A formal complaint has been submitted to the Fair Work Ombudsman, and further legal steps are underway.
