Hotel Johann Berlin

Please do not stay here. The staff is rude and the room they provided us was infested with flies on the ceiling (see attached photos). We asked for our money back so that we could stay elsewhere, and they refused. We still went somewhere else despite the $150 loss because the room was that gross. I'm surprised to see this hotel has good reviews because based on my experience, it was horrendous.

This is a bijou hotel that is very near the centre of Berlin. We were arriving late and they gave us a code and instructions how to obtain our key and operate the drawer at the entrance to the hotel where our key and room number would be found. The instructions sent to us were very clear and accompanied with photographs of the entrance etc. I must admit that we were a little bothered but needn’t have been. We had no trouble at all. The room was large and had an en-suite walk-in shower etc. which was quite large. The bed was very large and came with separate duvet’s. Wardrobe, TV, power sockets in abundance and Wi-Fi available . Very clean indeed. Breakfast was continental and self service with everything you’d hope for. The staff were exceedingly helpful and spoke perfect English. They do not offer dinner in the evening but there are plenty of restaurants near at hand. There is a small bar with comfortable seating. There isn’t a lift, only stairs. The staff are exceedingly helpful and will telephone for taxis etc as part of the service. It’s in a very pleasant area and very quiet and most things are within walking distance. There is an outside eating area as well.

Hotel con un grande stile sia nelle parti comuni che nella nostra (grande) camera. Si capisce che nella ristrutturazione e nell'arredamento c'è stato un pensiero molto creativo che ha tenuto conto sia della tradizione che della modernità, oltre che della comodità. Si trova in una strada tranquilla nella quale è facile trovare parcheggio senza dover pagare. Ha un giardino interno dove ci si può comodamente rilassare. Offre colazione, da pagare a parte, con un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Il personale (da citare in particolare Elisa) è cordiale e gentile e disponibile a dare ogni informazione utile. Molto consigliato perchè ha un'anima e una sua grande personalità.
