Klosterhagen Hotel

I absolutely loved everything about this small intimate hotel ! The reception staff were delightful and always went out of their way to help . Eli and Ludvik were instrumental in helping us find a shop that could help us with attaining a SIM card for our phones . Lise was very helpful and I think she was the head of staff and had been there the longest . Always greeted us with a friendly hello and was very informative of things to do and places to see . My room , 304 was on the top floor , and although small was the perfect aerie to stay during my 3 nights . Two large skylights , one above the bed and one in the bathroom made my room bright and airy . At night I had a lovely view of the far off funicular . My room was very clean and very quiet . My friend was on the floor below me and she said her room was also clean and perfect for a 3 night stay . My bed was comfortable and cosy ! The breakfast selections would work for all dietary needs. I had perfect soft boiled eggs , salmon , lovely fresh baked bread , three kinds of fruit and yogurt , juice and hot chocolate to fend off my hunger pains until lunch time . When we returned in the evening we would sit in the downstairs sitting area on comfy chairs and a sofa and wind down from our exhausting walk discovering every nook and cranny of Bergen . We ate at a cafe very close to our hotel where we enjoyed both beer and wine to wind down . I chose this hotel because one of the reviews mentioned it was only a short walk to the Hurtigruten Terminal and indeed it was . On our day of departure it took us less then 10 minutes to roll our suitcases DOWNHILL to the terminal to catch our cruise. I can not say enough about this quaint , friendly hotel . I am 76 years old , and there are no elevators , but if you needed help to get your suitcases up the stairs the staff are eager to offer their assistance. I am physically fit so I happily carried my own . When I return to Bergen I will book early enough to ensure I can stay at the Klosterhagen Hotel . Mary Shepherd , Ontario , Canada

This hotel is well appointed and has a lovely feel. It is tastefully decorated and the rooms are fresh and clean. I stayed for three nights and enjoyed their hospitality including a delicious breakfast. It’s about a 10 minute walk into town which is perfect. When I return to Bergen, I will look to stay there again..

my room was very lovely and clean, only issue was that i had no proper drawer, and i had to keep all my clothes in the luggage, which was very big and made it difficult to move from one side of the bed to another (except for a few hangers i used for my coat and jacket so that was nice, maybe i’ll ask for a bigger room next time). i’d also suggest to implement proper shower doors, i had to be careful not to drop water on the sink and all around the bathroom floor. other than that, i really enjoyed my stay, the staff were very very nice and breakfast was super yummy and you get a lot of things to choose from (and i mean a lot), they also give you the option to get a bag for takeaway, but since it’s not free i’d honestly suggest to just find a cheaper option around town, since the hotel is very close to the city center (less than a 10 minute walk), and all the surroundings are super nice to visit. i really fell in love with bergen, and my stay at the hotel contributed to it, i hope i can come back this summer!

The staff was very friendly. Our room was very cold and did not really heat up. We got an upgrade to a bigger room, that had a more effective heater/radiator. That went very uncomplicated and welcoming. The free waffle was delicious and the breakfast was rich with nice variety. Funny was the make-up mirror, placed at level of approx. 1,8m and the shower battery in knee-heigth. But that are just minor and unimportant trifles. We can recommend the hotel.

Room was clean. There was TV, fridge, coffee tea and sugar in the room. Amazing view from the hotel. Bathroom was very big and comfortable. Breakfast was really tasty with a lot of fish. Staff was very friendly. We left our luggage as our flight was after 10 pm. Later we could sit on comfortable sofa in wafting area and have some rest. We felt there like in home. Highly recommended. Waffles in the evening was something really appreciated.

You feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door, The staff were really nice & Helpful. The room I had was clean and adequate for my one night stay, plus the breakfast was a nice layout with plenty to choose from. Hotel is a small walk to the City Centre and if you are joining the Havila/ Hurtigruten vessels at the Jektevik terminal, it’s only a 10/15 mins away.
