Hotel Mangalemi

We drove here from Macedonia (Ohrid) and fell in love with this hotel straight away! Staff were amazing from the moment we parked outside and throughout our entire 2-night stay. Our room was gorgeous — airy, bright, and with a little courtyard. Very clean room, but some small ants got in. Amazing shower and bathroom! And so much fun décor throughout the hotel. Loved it! Note there was only one trash can in the entire room – it could definitely do with a second. Our room was also right next door to an outdoor, open square with a loud DJ on both nights, but we still slept like babies! Amazing view from the breakfast area – and oh, the breakfast spread was impressive too, with both hot and cold dishes and more wonderful, helpful staff. Note there are no currency exchange offices open on Sundays, so make sure you plan in advance if you need cash (which is preferred at most places in town).

Amazing stay at mangalemi hotel. The staff are incredibly nice, always smiling and always ready to help you. They all speak great english, we felt very welcomed. They eveb helped us parled the car everytime we left or arrived. The hotel is really beautiful and is really unique and traditional. The rooms were cleaned and as shown on the website. The breakfast included is very generous and good. The location was perfect, really close to the castle and close to the center. Definitely recommend!

Our group was welcomed into this beautiful old hotel, right in the middle of town, with a glass of raki. This warm welcome was typical of the friendly service received throughout our stay. The decor is historic and very atmospheric, and the hotel also has a collection of dogs and cats (if that's your thing!) I would certainly stay here again.

A charming family run hotel, well placed in the centre of delightful Berat. Good size room, comfortable beds, quiet location, good breakfast on a terrace with a good view. Very friendly staff, including the resident cat and dog. A very warm welcome.

I can't praise my stay in Hotel Mangelem enough. One night last year, two this time and I cannot praise the stay highly enough. The owner, the staff, the room, were superb. I have travelled to many places, but in my opinion, no hotel that I ever stayed in, came close to the standard of service and friendliness, that I received in Hotel Mangelem. Excellent hotel in the center of Berat on walking distance from both the river and the castle. The rooms were nice, the hospitality outstanding. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace a good start for the day.
