Had a booking via Trip.com that i had to modify in advance once due to urgent family matters, i rebooked for 2 days later. Unfortunately 1 flight delay caused me to miss 2 more flights and I couldn't get to Cancun for the night of the booking. I informed Trip.com and they attempted to get the hotel to cancel the booking. I was then stuck in Cancun the next morning and I requested Trip.com to ask the hotel if I could just modify the booking for that day instead of cancelling outright. However after waiting in the airport for over 3 hours for the hotel to respond to Trip.com agents, I gave up and had to book elsewhere. The hotel eventually responded that night and obviously refused the modification and have since refused to refund me at all.
It's incredibly disappointing considering the circumstances were way way beyond my control, and I since attempted to then get it rebooked for a day later rather than cancel completely. Clearly this hotel are more interested in taking advantage of their guests purely for financial gain rather than facilitating them in their hour of need. Thought a Marriot hotel would be better than that but clearly management in Cancun are not. Do not recommend!
