Holiday Inn Express & Suites Beloit

Some of the deficiencies noted in earlier reviews have been addressed. On the plus side, the front desk staff was polite and helpful. On the minus side, they were not always around. Breakfast was standard Holiday Inn fare, but was incomplete (no juice) one of the four days of my stay. Housekeeping was not consistent, with the room rarely cleaned. Towels were changed daily, but one morning simply dumped on the sink. This was an adequate experience but with many more pleasant hotle nearby I doubt I will stay here again.

The property was okay but the rude, incompetent young man at the front desk was so offensive one evening that we checked out early. This person has NO business being in the hospitality business and neither does the person who hired him. We will never be back.

I’ve just finished a week at the Holiday Inn Beloit. The hotel is located just off the Beloit exit along I-90 and sits off HWY 81. It’s just a couple miles outside central Beloit and Beloit College. The location is good and there are plenty of food choices within a few blocks. My room is large and comfortable. While near the interstate, you can’t really hear the interstate. Breakfast has a modest selection of choices, but the cinnamon roles are the reason to go. They were really good. It does appear that housekeeping is understaffed and that they are only doing the minimum (fixing the bed, replacing the towels, emptying the trash) every other day. They came twice during my six nights. And they have removed the “Please make up the room” signs from the rooms. That didn’t bother me too much, but it was noticeable. Overall it’s an average interstate Holiday Inn, with really good cinnamon rolls. Also, the young woman who checked me in and whom I saw most evenings was fantastic. Pay her more, she is wonderful.

My 1st stay at a Holiday Inn Express. This is a brand new property with clean spacious rooms. Large windows let in a lot of natural light. Breakfast was better than I expected lots of options with some grab and go items. The large disposable paper bowls allowed you to get enough and take it back to your room without spilling. Pool/Workout areas were clean, rarely saw them used but nice to have available.

Had great time in Beloit on several days at this rather updated Holiday Inn Express. Great town with excellent restaurants and a cool Saturday morning market. Highly recommend a stay, but you should be aware of the management issues at the hotel. We've done 3 nights there. - Every room has had some small housekeeping deficiency. Really basic stuff like no wastebasket in the bathroom. - Worse still, as other guests have noticed, there are cleaning and hot water issues. One night we had to change to another room to get a hot shower. Also, a shower that was not correctly cleaned. - Front desk staff not really attuned to IHG status issues, such as asking about later checkout at the time of check-in or offering a higher-floor room. - Breakfast unimaginative, even by Holiday Inn express standards. - Staff tried to enter 2 different rooms while we were in them without knocking. Total lack of training. In all, I would still stay at the hotel because I love Beloit and it is a modern, comfortable motel. The hotel simple needs committed, hands-on management that is painfully lacking at this time - with that, it would be a 5-star place. For now, 2 stars.

I was visiting the Beloit area and hanging out with friends over Labor Day weekend 2022 and spent two nights at this Holiday Inn Express. Overall, this hotel is nice but I had some serious issues with maintenance, housekeeping, and inconsistent messages from staff. (The maintenance issues included a room where I physically could not close the blinds at night). I was, fortunately, moved into a different room for my second night where I could close the blinds. I appreciated that. Despite the problems I had with my stay, I enjoyed the breakfast both mornings of my stay, and I enjoyed being able to use the business center in the lobby. Plus, I was happy with management's response after I expressed my serious concerns. This hotel does have potential to be a great place for guests to stay, but there are some significant issues that just need to be dealt with. I truly did appreciate management's response to my concerns, though. I felt like my concerns were taken seriously when the manager responded to my e-mail after my stay.

We arrived 2 to 3 hours before checkin, after driving about 5 hours. We were lucky enough that there was a room ready for us, as we had just travelled about 5 hours. At check-in, to my knowledge, we requested to have a basic room refresh/cleaning, but it appeared that it was never done as our trash was never emptied. On our second to last day, we approached a staff member and requested our trash to be emptied. The staff member stated they would talk to housekeeping. Our trash was still there upon our return several hours later. Apparently we were not the only onesvwho had an issue with trashnot being removed. The morning of our check-out day, there was a large pile of trash by the ice machine left by other people. Went to take a shower. Water was very lukewarm at best and never warmed up. Just dealt with it as it may have just been a fluke. Next afternoon, went to shower. Water was still very lukewarm at best. Went to tell front desk. Front desk gave us 5000 points for the inconvenience and assigned us a new room. Staff even checked for hot water before we went in and assured us it was hot. Turned out, wasn't that much better, but we just dealt with it. We paid good money and are reward members and we should be able to get something as simple as hot water, not lukewarm water. We were there for 4 nights and did not have hot water until the morning of our second to last day. 24 hours before leaving. Breakfast the first day was adequate. The second day wasn't much better. Luckily, we brought food and had leftovers and had to resort to that. Third morning was about the same. Not very impressed. Same stuff, maybe a change in the meat, but that was it. The fourth day we just said forget about it and wr t somewhere else on our way out. My husband used the pool one time and indicated that the pool was cold. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.

Hotel clean, staff friendly. Pool water was on the chilly side. We were pleasantly surprised as we walked into our room. It smelled fresh and clean. Only negative we could think of is the drain was pulled out from the tub (we’re hoping they just didn’t finish cleaning it) Pleased with our stay

I’m writing this because I travel a lot for work and am fairly picky about the hotels I stay in. I would normally stay at a higher level of hotel class but we were staying here for personal reasons as part of a sports team. I don’t want people to not book this property based on the other reviews. From the second we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff at the front and this continued throughout our stay. Our room was very clean and we saw hotel staff constantly cleaning the lobby and social areas. There were several sports teams staying here and so if you do not like kids- this may not be the place for you. Our kids were not at this hotel as they are older and travel with their team, but we found the parents and kids to be respectful and responsible. It was nice to have a sitting area in the lobby to socialize and catch the latest sporting event. We did not notice the noise of the interstate except for the middle of the day- however we always travel with a sound machine and leave the fan on. The ice machine on the 6th floor was broken- but the hotel was quick to offer another solution to fill the many water bottles for the young athletes from their breakfast kitchen. Location doesn’t look like much - but we found great local restaurants to go out to within a couple miles and would definitely stay here again!
