Caramel Boutique Hotel

The Caramel is well-situated, in a quiet street just of the bustling Hamrq street, one of the most vibrant areas in Beirut. It is an older hotel, and would certainly benefit from a general renovation. But the hotel has an informal, quirky character, which may justify the "Boutique" description in its title. My bed was comfortable and the room had adequate furnishings and bathroom facilities. I did not use the restaurant. Front desk staff were helpful. This is an inexpensive option in a good neighborhood. I would stay again.

- Horrible Wifi (sometimes non existent) - Power went out frequently. One night it went out over 30 times, yes 30. - At check in, no glass/cup/mugs, toilet papers, shampoo, conditioner, soup - Need to clean better (see pics) - I requested non smoking room and they confirmed, but they told me I can smoke inside. Therefore it smelled like smoke including sheets and towels - Shower door leaks - Broken: electric kettle , toilet paper holder, one of the main outlets Power went out so frequently they moved me to another room but it still did. After I was moved, they accused me of breaking the lid of electric kettle which was broken when I checked in, as for many other things listed above. Their poor Wifi made my work very difficult. When complained, they did nothing about it. They provided me bottled waters, shower water pressure was great. Convenient location, walking distance to many restaurants.
