Booked 2 Rooms for my family and me at the Hotel under my name, Coming from 2 different locations I arrived later in the night than my wife and daughter. My wife checked in on the reservation, which I made under my name, and she told the reception that I would be coming later that night. When I arrived after midnight, the staff insisted to call my wife to ensure that I would be allowed to go to the room. Security is fine and understandable, but the receptionist was aware that I would be coming as my wife told them during check-in. Check the WeChat conversation the receptionist had with me, it was even written by them that they were aware of the husband coming later. Additionally, I was the booker and also the one who paid and showed them the receipts/fa piao, plus we all have the same last family name, which was clearly shown on all passports. All of us were foreigners, so what are the chances of being the wrong person, with the same last name ??? Especially arriving with 2 pieces of luggage with me and not some kind of drunk person??? So we woke my wife up around 1.00 AM in the night just to let her repeat again, what the reception was aware of already. Best of all, when I wanted to get a key card for the room that I fully pre-paid under my name, the receptionist refused to give me a key card and told me she will swipe the elevator for me, I asked again for a key card, and she did not give another keycard. So besides that, we called my wife in the middle of the night, she again had to get up and out of bed, because the receptionist refuse to make an additional key card. What is the issue to make another keycard, so that your partner does not get out of bed in the middle of the night? Especially nice as we had to get up 3 hours later at 4:30 AM morning to continue our trip. Last but not least, when safety and security are so important, you might also not leave the copy of guests' passports visible on the counter (in this case my wife's passport copy), for everyone else to see. But I guess the hotel's policy and procedure do not say anything about that. Honestly, within my over 20 years of traveling in China, the complete lack of service, and the absence of common sense the receptionist displayed makes me wonder who is hiring and training the employees at this hotel. No words...
