UrCove by HYATT Beijing Forbidden City

This hotel was old and DISGUSTING. Do NOT book this hotel if you care about your own health. There was mold all over our bathroom, on the ceiling and walls, and water damage on our bedroom walls. We booked for 7 days, and checked out after the first night as we could not live there. We booked an executive queen room, which was advertised to be 28-35m squared with a window, and received a tiny room that had no space to even open up a suitcase on the ground! And the “window” was an indoor terrace that didnt have any windows to outside. We had to go back to the lobby to ask for a new room, and the staff working, Mark, was not very friendly or apologetic. He gave us a new room right beside the other room (not sure why this wasn’t given to us in the first place), which was much bigger but still very dirty and moldy and had no windows. Note that this hotel has only 2 elevators that are very slow, and only one elevator goes to the lobby on the 8th door. The “free snacks” were not replenished, and the lobby coffee is extremely expensive (25-30yuan for a self made machine espresso). Location is great though, very close to the transit and Wangfujing. The gentlemen working downstairs were very nice though. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Good location, can say that it’s located in the middle of everything. We can stay in just one place for all the tourist attractions the we plan to go. Because it close to line 1 and line 8 of the metro. You can walk to the metro with in 2 blocks away only less than 10 mins. You also can walk to wang fu jing easily, many foods and shopping malls, also can walk to the forbidden city, also close to the tour bus to the great wall. The room also quite clean, free snack and drinks in the fridge everyday, you can late check out and also can leave your luggage with the hotel they have self service locker for your luggage. But in winter season suggest to book the room with window otherwise too hot due to the heater. Staff are friendly and try to speak english with us. :) But just one thing that there’s always smell of food but maybe because we are on the second floor.

NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL. We change from room 5026 to room 5030 but they are the same. You cannot breath in the room if you close the door! We opened the door whole night to sleep. Beijing is -5 degree and our room is 32 degree. This is a close box, not hotel room by Hyaat. I booked 4 nights but must to check out from the first night! They promise to refund 3 nights but they dont. Staff cant speak English. Manager of hotel can say sorry in review feedback but i dont think they fix their mistake. Ventilation system was broken, it was so noisy, we ask for another room then is was the same. We cannt sleep whole night!!! This hotel destroy our holiday in Beijing! Very bad experience in Beijing! They bring us a fan!!! Can you imaging we need a fan during a winter time in Beijing in a hotel manager by Hyatt? DONT TRUST WHAT THEY SHOW YOU ON ANY APP. I was booked this hotel from Trip.com.

My parents and I stayed here, thinking it would be great as it is close to a lot of the famous landmarks we were hoping to see. At the first check in, the guy who checked us in knew little bit of English and gave us two rooms on the same floor but away from each other… which is silly since I came with them, meaning I want to be near them. To the point they told us there were no more rooms and to come tomorrow. Tomorrow we were too busy to switch rooms, also they never told us at what time to come, only when we were already away from the hotel. The rooms were both very hot, AC doesn’t work, wifi very slow too. We both didn’t have windows, so as you can probably guess it was very stuffy. Apart from the closeness, I wouldn’t stay here again.

We have booked and stay in a Theme Room with extra bed. Please look at the attached photo condition of the mattress for the extra bed. Basically when the moment you sit down, you will immediately feel the popping out of the springs. Totally unacceptable as brand name under Hyatt. Got to ask the staff for extra comforter to cover over the bed sheet to minimise the sunken in of the mattress and popping out of the springs when we laid down. Told staff about it and he kept claiming that the bed is hard without even physically checking on the mattress’s condition. Staff like many guests had mentioned, not taking pride in serving and rather lay back. Tissue paper not refilled as its totally empty on one of the day. To conclude, stay out of this hotel by all means!

My second time booking with this hotel! Great location 👌 We were on the 3rd floor this time, and the service was great again! We had some issues with the iPad not working, but staff was very accommodating! There was no dust and the room location had no noise! Definitely a hotel to take note of ✨😊✨
