Milaian Hotel (Dazhongsi Subway Station Branch Zhongguancun Beijing)

The bed was clean, and the male receptionist was helpful when I needed assistance. However, cleaning is definitely not considered a priority, I was surprised my bed was clean. No bin is even provided in the "social" area, so rubbish was always left on the tables. I also doubt the toilets/showers are ever properly cleaned. There were only 3 showers, plus maybe 2 separate ones for women, for at least 20 rooms. Even though it was given straight away, I had to ask for toilet paper, wifi password, and locker password, as none of this was provided during check-in. The location isn't fantastic. You need to walk at least 15 minutes to get to the nearest metro station. The building is also being renovated, so there's a lot of construction out the front. It's probably one of the worst hostels I've stayed at, but that's what you get for trying to find budget accommodation, I guess.

The staff were helpful, most people stay here are students, it is conveniently near city centre but quite a walk to the nearest train station. I would say the price is great for this location, but with all shared rooms there are always compromises/air con could be stuffy, cleanliness issues etc. Thank you to the staff who helped me when I'm there!

The mattress is so hard, the cleanliness is not terrible, the soundproofing is bad, well located 10 minutes from the metro and full of shops around.
