The White Hart

We stayed for several nights during our UK holiday. Overall quite good, but prior to booking i didn't read all of the info on te White Hart web site, I missed that there were steep stairs, as a result we struggled up and down, also missed that there was no car park, the nearest one was some 20 or so yards down the road at 8pd/day. Even though there was a large function on, the room was quite quiet. The room is compact (for an executive room, but comfortable bed, good bathroom facilities except that teh shower is over the bath and therefor big step to get in. Enjoyed the stay.

This is a lovely small hotel. We stayed 1 night while visiting friends for their wedding reception. The place itself is lovely. The room was clean. We didn’t have any towels when we first arrived but once we told the staff they brought some up in good time. The floors are all incredibly uneven each corridor or room has a different angled floor. It made for an interesting night after a few drinks. We had breakfast included with our room but we weren’t sure what it entailed. Usually when we stay somewhere like this we are offered fruit juice and tea and you are welcome to however much you would like. We were just given a menu and asked what hot drink we would like. We ordered from a small menu but wasn’t given any information regarding what was included in the price. I ended up ordering the toast stack which didn’t look toasted but it was quite hard and chewy to eat. We payed for the room over the phone so didn’t get any sort of confirmation beforehand of what was included so it would have been helpful if the staff at breakfast would maybe let the guests know what was included. Overall the place and area is lovely.

Stayed for one night mid week and the room (no. 7) was lovely. A genuine boutique room and very comfortable and surprisingly quiet being on the road side. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice. Very happy to recommend and will stay there again

A much needed catch up with some old friends , one of whom lives locally suggested we could meet there . We arrived a bit later than planned but were taken to our table where our friends were waiting . We were offered our drinks and provided with a menu as soon as we took our seats . All of our meals were very good quality and on trying a bit of my wife’s chicken dish I know what I will be be ordering on our next visit . Also important to note , while you were aware of the staff’s presence , they were not bothersome in any way and it helped to make our dining experience an extremely pleasant experience as we were never made to feel we had to be out by a certain time after finishing our meals and drinks. Andrew our waiter was responsible for looking after us and did so very well .

I have just read some of the reviews and don’t under stand why on a Thursday evening in January the service was so bad . We waited over 15 minutes in a pretty empty bar . One barman on duty making cocktails totally ignoring us . Then to top it all off the barman accepted a shot and drunk it from the cocktail customers . At this point we asked if we could be served and we told to wait our turn . We decided to take our business elsewhere

I had my 40th here and it was the best experience from start to end! Everyone I spoke to about the party was always so helpful and answered the many questions which made it super easy. The party was everything i wanted it to be in the gorgeous Stables venue. We stayed all weekend from Friday brunch and dinner, party Saturday and breakfast on Sunday and at no point did we feel like we had to leave the table. Baz and the staff were all spot on. Thank you so much for the best experience, for looking after us so well and the free bubbly. I highly recommend the Spanish rice pudding, cinnamon, caramel sauce...should come with a warning, it's highly addictive!
