Seagull Bay Motel

We stayed the week for my wife's business trip to the Bayfield area. There is a lot of positive things about this place. Our unit had frontage on the main road coming into town, but it was still quiet. It is an older facility, but has been kept up or has been restored as a labor of love. It was a very clean room. The bed was quite comfortable, and the two chairs by the window were also surprisingly comfortable (I had my doubts when I first saw them.) Being up on the road at the crest of the bluff, there was a very nice view over the lake toward the island, and the unit had a decent-sized deck that would have been very nice for sitting outside if it was just a little later in the spring. One very striking feature of the unit was the retro appliances -- a small refrigerator and a microwave. The decor was simple, and I really liked the blinds. They operated very well and kept the sun out when closed. The people who own/run it were very nice and helpful. The downsides were there was no dresser or closet, no desk (just a small table), and just the bathroom sink. It was a fairly small unit and didn't have room for anything else in it. Since I was on vacation and my wife was working, I had the room to myself during the day, and it would have been nice to have a bit more room to set up my computer and work with an auxilliary kepboard, but I made do well enough. If it was warmer weather I would have been either outside more, sitting on the deck, taking a boat tour, or taking the ferry

I arrived in mid April before the normal stream of visitors. The room was ready to go, neat, clean and completely supplied. Good stay.

The view of the lake from our was beautiful. The room and bed were comfortable and met our needs. The area was very quiet.

Good option Only downfall was the WiFi. Not enough to connect reliably. Overall clean and close to the brownstone trail and down town

The photos on the website confused me. I mistakenly thought that all the rooms were as nice and up to date as the rooms appeared on the website. After further review I realized I did not look at ALL the photos of the rooms. There was a beautiful view from the deck-- gorgeous lake etc. But the rooms could use some updating.

Beautiful view. Pet Friendly. We stayed in the guest house. It was right off Hwy 13 including parking. Couldn’t hear traffic from inside though. It was on top of the hill looking out to Lake Superior. At bottom of motel property you can walk onto the trail Browntrail? It’s takes you along lake and into marina area and downtown. You can easily walk to and from downtown from motel. You can see the sunrise over lake from room. Nice new furnishings. Could use a luggage rack, light by parking and different lock. Hair dryers are shared on property. You have to go get one when you need it and bring it back to office. They should put one in each room. Room came with coffee pot, coffee and filters. Bring your own creamer if you don’t like the powder packets. They have dishes, pots, silverware.

Simple accommodations with attention to occupants’ needs. Has microwave, coffeemaker and small fridge. Tiny but nice bathroom. What made this stay was the view of the lake and the walking trail behind as well as the foliage and convenience to dining. Beautiful setting

Views for days! Spotless room! Easy check in/out process!

The room is decorated very nicely and super clean. I prefer a less firm mattress but others might enjoy how firm they are. The chairs in the room look nice but are not comfortable for sitting and watching TV. The microwave and fridge in the room were handy and I appreciated the available coffee supplies and toiletry items. Bayfield is.a highly popular tourist destination which is likely the reason for the room rate. I appreciated the backyard, chairs to sit outside, outdoor lighting and access to a walking trail. This property overlooks the lake with stunning views but is not down at lake level and no direct access to a beach. But you can walk it quickly drive to restaurants, bars and attractions. Checking was easy using a QR code in the lobby or they mentioned texting info but I didn't receive that text. Pay attention to your room choice as they have many options and I missed that ours didn't have a kitchenette but we managed with fridge and microwave. All in all a nice place to stay.
