Sonesta Essential - Baton Rouge Airport

One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, offering helpful recommendations and always greeting me with a smile. The attention to detail truly set this hotel apart.

I chose this hotel because it was a well known chain and I came in on a flight late enough that all the rental car counters were closed. I needed a place close enough to the airport to get back as soon as the rental car counters opened. In hind site, I should have read the reviews and stayed elsewhere The hotel lobby was filthy. The hallways stunk, not sure if it was vomit or fish. My room had greasy fingerprints on the shears, and the sheets were stained with who knows what. My socks were black after walking on the floors for 30 minutes. The topping on the cake was that the deadbolt would not engage and the door cross latch looked like it had been kicked in multiple times. The only positive thing I can say is they promptly picked me up from the airport in their shuttle when I came in on a late flight and got me back the airport rental car area promptly the next morning. Both shuttle drivers were very accommodating and personable. That being said, if I had my own transportation, I would have eaten the prepaid room cost and found somewhere else to stay.
