Black Horse

I'm not a big fan of the area, and that wasn't helped by a stop in Peterborough before arriving here, but The Black Horse was a really pleasant surprise. Check in was easy, room was spacious and comfortable, and we had both lunch and dinner there, both meals being absolutely lovely. Cannot fault the staff, was a really comfortable village pub environment for some time spent relaxing during the day, and it's impressive to see that they also had a surprisingly wide range of non-alcoholic drink options.

We stayed for two nights as were attending a friend’s funeral locally. The wake was also held at The Black Horse. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the bar has a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Our room was quite spacious with a large shower room and a very comfortable king-size bed. Also tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits were available. Breakfast was great, with cereals and yoghurt followed by a choice of cooked options, the first morning we had the hearty full English and on the second morning the breakfast omelette. Both were really tasty and well cooked. Would we return….definitely

The Black Horse at Baston near Peterborough was the chosen venue for our son and his fiancé wedding day. The venue was booked and the Bridal suite and rooms for family members reserved too. The Wedding ceremony took place in lovely intimate surroundings followed by drinks and wonderful photographs in the surrounding gardens. The Wedding breakfast of delicious, hearty and well cooked food was excellently served by The Black Horse staff who looked after us and our guests from the beginning to end of our wonderful day. Thank you so much to all the Black Horse staff and would like to mention a special thank you to Gail who was our wedding organiser who worked tirelessly to ensure that this special day was the wonderful success that it was.
