Croit Na h-Aibhne

We really enjoyed our stay with Mary Ann and Jimmy at Croit na h-Aibhne. We happened stay in the cottage, which provided us with a blend of the holiday cottage and B&B experiences. We had a great time exploring Barra, but particularly the immediate surroundings, from Heaval (mountain) to the cemetery on the Borve headland. The traditional breakfast was fantastic, and we also enjoyed the pizza we picked up from Joan’s Barra Pizza, just down the road.

Stunning and immaculate house. Mary Anne was very informative advising us of where to visit. Nothing was a chore, very helpful indeed Breakfast was lovely. We got to meet 'wee Jess' the new Collie pup in training when we were out. Barra is stunning

Lovely isolated house about five miles from Castlebay Ferry. Owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a spacious guest lounge with lovely views and comfortable chairs/settees, made for good socialising. Furnishings were quite modern and comfortable in our room, although the wooden floors did creak quite a bit. Great breakfasts, very freshly cooked. Note that eating out in the evenings on the island is limited and it is essential to book well in advance. (See reviews for Cafe Kisimul and Castlebay Hotel)

My wife and I had a lovely couple of nights in Croit Na h-Aibhne Bed and Breakfast, the host was lovely, the room was spotless and the breakfast lovely. The only thing I would say is if you are a light sleeper take earplugs as you can hear people moving about and talking. This is not meant as a criticism, it's just the type of building. Would I go back...definitely.

Our room featured a very comfortable, large King bed with very nice bedding, as well as a nice sitting area. Dinner options in the area are extremely limited, so guests should research in advance to make arrangements for dinners. Full English/Scottish breakfast was provided by the B&B and was quite good.

There were six of us on this trip and we had a double room and a family room. The accommodation is beautiful and excellent attention to detail. Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Sadly we were only here for one night as part of an island hopping tour we were doing. However, we wouldn't hesitate to return as its the perfect location with the most warm and welcoming hosts and a delicious HUGE breakfast to start your day.
