Parc Hotel Gritti

Nice hotel within walking distance from bardolino (500m) extensive breakfast until 11 a.m, Best parking of Bardolino 3 garages and 1 outside (free) highly recommended in the pre and post season. Can be busy in high season. Bardolino also very nice, always a pleasure to come back.

We arrived early but the room was ready for us. Reception staff were great. The room itself had everything we need, comfy beds, tea and coffee, very clean. Bed changed daily etc. The water man turned up every morning with bottles of water. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. I've seen other reviews complain about this but I really can't see why. I couldn't think of anything else they could have put out!. Perhaps some people don't like a buffet breakfast. They even had sparkling wine out if that's what you want for breakfast! We were on b & b so didn't eat at the hotel in the evening which would have been a waste as there are so many excellent eateries in town which brings us to the location. Fantastic! A very gentle stroll down the boardwalk with great views. Couldn't be better. Just down the road from the bus stop too. We didn't use the pool but it looked great. There were always loads of sunbeds free when we walked past. We did use the lido accross the road which is free to hotel guests and that was great too. Fantastic views. We would definitely return.

After reading some other reviews I was a bit worried about staying here but definitely didn’t need to be! Transfer from Verona airport took 40mins. Coach dropped us off at the end of the driveway. Hotel is clean and tidy. Beautiful location! Reception staff were friendly & welcoming. Room was spotless and very spacious. Cleaners do a great job, our room was spotless all week. Wifi worked well in our room (123). Only 2 English channels are on the tv but after previous experience in other countries we took a cable to connect our phones for the evenings mainly. Breakfast is in both restaurants at slightly different times. It’s nice they have a later option so you don’t have to be up at the crack of dawn! Breakfast was really good, SO much choice! Dinner was also good, again a lot of choice! Unless you’re really fussy I don’t think you’d go hungry, we certainly didn’t. All restaurant staff are really friendly and welcoming and work extremely hard! You have to show your room ‘card’ so drinks are charged to the correct room. I liked that it’s done this way and you’re always given a receipt so you can keep track of your spending. Men have to wear long trousers at dinner. Outdoor pool was clean and plenty of sun beds. Indoor pool was also clean and jacuzzis lovely. Swim hat has to be worn for indoor pool and jacuzzi. You can just take shower one from your room. Walk out the back of the hotel and you’re on the lake! It’s a 10min walk to the ferry port, bus station and heart of Bardolino.

Nice hotel and location. Food on the other hand is very bad. Food was either luke warm or cold. And food choices for English guests was very poor. They catered more for guests from other countries . Reported issues to tui rep on first day who got hotel manager to contact me. Spoke to manager but nothing was done to improve the food. 2 English tv channels, cartoon and music. However all adverts in Dutch. Catering yet again for guests from other countries. Avoid this hotel as they cannot cook food properly. Food in resort restaurants is much better.

I was a little dubious about where I had booked after reading some of the reviews and being used to five star Antalya Turkey hotels. I needn’t have worried. I absolutely LOVED it. Ok so it’s not 5 star Turkey but it’s very clean, the staff are fantastic (Giuseppe on the pool bar is so lovely and a real asset to the hotel), breakfast catered for everyone, food in the pool/grill bar was really good. Drinks good. Pool area was lovely and the location is fantastic - 5 minute walk to Bardolino centre. We ate at a restaurant called Biri three times and I would highly recommend. Also ate at La Porta - again fabulous food and service. Would I return - in a heartbeat. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Just returned from a week’s stay at Parc Hotel Gritti and overall found the hotel ok. We had selected what I believe is called a “privilege room” for which there was a supplement. We were staying on a half board basis. Firstly the good points - The hotel itself is quite large and accommodates a large number of guests. staff are courteous and hardworking and service in the bars and dining rooms was excellent. Our room was cleaned daily and overall the level of cleanliness couldn’t be faulted. The pool is large and deep and whilst we were there adequately accommodated the guests wishing to use it. Sun-beds were plentiful albeit a little crowded. The hotel a spa, indoor pool, sauna etc and all seemed great. Food in the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner was buffet style, plentiful, varied and of a good standard. Location was fantastic. Reception staff super helpful. Now for negatives The hotel is big but the utilisation of space is poor and overall desperately in need of refurbishment. The interior is dated and bleakly decorated with a drab colour scheme of greys and beige. The “American Bar” was not open at all during our stay which meant that the only place to have a drink in the evening was at the poolside grill bar. Not the end of the world of course, but when you’ve spent quite a bit of time there during the day whilst using the pool it would have been nice to have had a change of scenery in the evening. Both the restaurants we visited were grim if I’m honest, really dated - drab grey rubber tablecloths coupled with plastic flowers and voile swags on the windows. It really wasn’t a nice dining experience. In addition the layout of the buffet, both at breakfast and dinner was fairly shambolic, such that guests were constantly crisscrossing one another. I guess that is typical of a buffet arrangement, but with so many guests it was chaotic and irritating. Half board guests do have the option of eating dinner at the poolside bar which has an “a la carte” menu but this is unchanged from the lunchtime menu and as I mentioned previously having spent time in that location throughout the day we weren’t inclined to spend the evening there too. We simply chose to eat out instead. Moving on to our room, having paid for an upgrade we were a little disappointed. Once again the decor wasn’t great and the furniture was very shabby. If these were supposed to be in the top end range of rooms I dread to think what the more economically priced rooms are like. On balance though , (and I know this sounds odd after the criticisms I’ve made) we would in fact consider staying there again in the future, primarily due to the hotel’s location and the level of service we received but we would definitely would go for a bed and breakfast basis rather than half board as we found the battle for the buffet twice daily too challenging and there are so many super restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel is off the main road and our transfer coach did not drop off directly at the hotel, which was not ideal as we arrived in the dark and the pouring rain during a summer thunderstorm. Our flight had been delayed and it was lovely to have a plated salad waiting for us in the room as we had missed dinner. The reception staff were polite and helpful in the main and the hotel is spacious and has nice public areas to sit in. The pool looked lovely but was very crowded and we didn't use it - the sunbeds were "claimed" by people taking huge pile of towels down every morning and it was also too hot to be lying in the sun all day. We had booked a privilege room and were quite disappointed as it was basic and a bit tired and in need of updating, although it was roomy and was cleaned every day. However, we had no WiFi in the room for the entire week we were there and had to sit in the public areas to get access, and were told it was one of the dead zones in the hotel which was not ideal. We had booked on a half-board basis and wished we had gone with B&B only as the dining room was depressing to say the least. It is more like a canteen than a dining room and with all the beautiful weather outside, having to sit in a drab beige room with plastic tablecloths and flowers and no view was not nice. The food was plentiful but basic - with only one or two items being freshly cooked, the others sitting in self-service heated trays. The salad bar was fresh though. We had the option to eat at the Grill Bar instead as long as you booked by 11.00 a.m. and we did that a few times and the food was much better, but the menu was limited. We chose to eat in the town on other occasions, and there are plenty of lovely restaurants to chose from so would definitely not bother with half-board again. Bardolino is a great base for visiting the area and has easy access to the ferry service which we used most days. You can swim in the lake here but the shore is very stoney so you will need swim shoes. It is a beautiful area but we would probably not stay at this hotel again unless it has been refurbished and expanded the dining area, as it was not worth the money in my opinion.

Firstly, the Park Gritti hotel is in a great location right next to the lake and bars, shops etc. Our room was basic but clean. Shower gel, robes and slippers were provided as well as a welcome bottle of sparkly. There is a safe in the bottom of the wardrobe but you need to obtain a key from reception. We had a balcony which had a side view of the hills and mountains. A kettle and a coffee machine was provided and supplies and water were replenished daily. The fridge was stocked like a mini bar but inside is a price list to pay for whatever you use. Reception staff are very helpful and rooms are made up daily by hard working cleaners. If you want a sun bed you may have to get up early. The hotel has a strict policy of no towels to be left unattended, although this didn’t appear to be monitored though. There are always empty seats around the pool if you’re unable to obtain a sun bed. Lovely large pool but fairly deep for young children. The bar staff are hard working and big shout out to Giuseppe who looked after us. Good selection of drinks which were average price for a hotel. If you prefer to buy your own for days out etc. there is a Spar supermarket across the road from the hotel. The Lido Mirabello beach is next to the hotel. I would suggest you get there before 11am as sun beds get occupied quickly. The lake is lovely to swim in although a little rocky as you enter. No need to pay if you’re staying at the hotel Gritti as entry is complimentary for hotel guests. Reception will give you a ticket to show the attendant for free entry, otherwise it’s around 9 euros per day. There are bikes outside the hotel which you can hire. It’s around 10 euros for 4 hrs. A great way to explore Bardolino or Lazise or Garda a couple of miles along the coastline. We did a few day trips. We went to Limone in the North one day and also booked a trip to Venice which is a couple of hours away by coach, both well worth visiting. Bardolino has lots of bars and restaurants. There is some evening entertainment in the hotel, but not everyday. They sometimes have a singer or there is karaoke, but not sure if this is seasonal. There is a great selection of food for breakfast and dinner at this hotel. In the evening men must wear trousers, but not sure why as it is only a buffet restaurant. As we were half board we sometimes swapped dinner for lunch or had dinner at the pool bar instead of the buffet in the Cipriani restaurant. The pool restaurant is lovely and you can wear shorts if you wish. You need to go to reception before 11am to do this though each day. Where the hotel could improve is their communication regarding lunch and dinner options as this is not clear to guests. The trouser policy for men needs to be reviewed in the buffet restaurant in the evenings, particularly as it’s very hot. Some maintenance issues in the rooms could also be improved. Overall a great hotel in Lake Garda - a hidden gem!

Friendly staff. Old, worn out hotel, but somehow ok. and clean. Breakfast of poor quality and restaurant too expensive compared to the quality they serve. Cannot be recommended. Pool was alright. Lido Mirabello Beach is nice, if you are lucky to get a sun chair for you during the day.
