Hotel Brummell

We like the no-fuss vibe and for some it may come across as too casual for a 4-star. This is more of a 3 star hotel tbh. The room is quite minimalistic but the basics are there. Stayed at the mountain view room on 4th floor. If you like the neighborhood vibe with parrots squawking and doves cooing, this is the place for you. It's actually quite calming. The croissants at the bakery are quite good. Confirmed with baker it's french butter and made by Elle et Vire. Not exactly D'Isigny but still pretty good. Even the items selected for the vending machine are of good quality. Two things I don't quite like: 1. They had remodeling done on the 1st floor near the kitchen from 3pm to 8pm when we stayed. We can't hear the noises in the room but it was impossible to chill in the lobby during the evenings. This remodeling wasn't mentioned prior to our check-in. Be great to know though. 2. That reminder card in the bathroom abot not wasting water, electricity, turning down AC, and then rather thin toilet paper. I mean guests who stayed here expect a certain level of comfort given the price point. This is not exactly a 1-star hostel. Despite which, will still consider this hotel for a future stay in Barcelona.

This is a superb hotel - feels like staying with family. The front desk staff we interacted with - Estaven and Maria - were incredibly friendly and helpful. When our plane was delayed, Estaven made sure we knew where our key would be to self check-in. As our arrival ended up being right after 11, he then stayed after his shift to greet us personally and take us to our room. The room was superb. We did have one of the penthouse rooms with a great view into the city and its own outdoor area. All amenities were superb. The breakfast, which we had included, had us both filled with healthy food to start the day. Maria helped with taxi reservations and any questions we had. She has great enthusiasm. It was wonderful. We were able to walk anywhere from there. Picasso, Plaza Catalunya, La Rambla, etc. We highly recommend the hotel and its terrific, caring staff.

Absolutely gorgeous little hotel with amazing staff. We changed our reservation last minute from The Hoxton after reading their reviews - particularly of the pool area and friendliness of the staff - and I’m so glad we did. The hotel is pristine, has a welcoming and hip vibe without being arrogant. On arrival I had an issue with my credit card but this was no problem, we were shown our room and the facilities and we settled right in. Our room was spacious and well equipped and the beds so comfy. Breakfast is mostly pastries and lunch has the most amazing sandwiches. The pool is small but perfect with more than enough chairs and loungers to accommodate guest ( without the need to book and pay like The Hoxton ). We never felt crowded or rushed. Special thanks to Angelo and the ladies on reception, you went over and above to make our few days away special. I would 100% recommend this superb boutique hotel and hope to return soon.

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for 7 days and can not say enough how enjoyable our stay was. The staff is so helpful with recommendations from food to must sees. Tatiana is a true gem. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, they even went the extra mile to provide boxed breakfast on the day we headed out early. The rooms were great and we enjoyed socializing in all the hangout spots by the pool area. It is away from the major tourist areas but a close walk to all areas.

Staff was very helpful, remembered our names and so on which made us feel very at home and taken care of :) Late check in and early check out was sorted wothout any issues aswell ⭐️ Nice and clean hotel, good area with a very local vibe! Make sure to visit Celler Cal Marino vermouth bar just a few blocks away. Run by a lovely ownee who makes several vermouths in the facility 🍷

We usually stay in another area of Barcelona and decided to venture out. Best decision we made. Loved the location of Hotel Brummell as the area had more of a neighborhood feel instead of being overrun by tourists. The hotel is beautifully designed as are the rooms. We had a Mountain View room and were concerned that it would be noisy as it faced a school but it was very quiet. Fun touches throughout the rooms, such as yoga mats, easy coffee service to get you started in the morning, refreshing full-sized bath products and cozy sheets. Be sure to check out the fun vending machine outside your room for tasty late night treats.
