My Address in Barcelona

I'm not usually the type of person to write a negative review, but our stay at My Address in Plaza Real was pretty terrible. We quickly found the property is infested with Ants and would enter through the walls, baseboards, and door cracks (see pictures). We found ants in our bags and other personal belongings within 12 hours of our stay. The property manager, Miriyam, was far from helpful. She was told of the problem and denied any wrong doing, stating that the ants came from outside and would solve the problem by sealing the door, even though there are clear pictures of ants coming from multiple entry points. Further, she stated that it was the first time it has ever happened, even though there are ant traps present along with ant killing spray on the premise. She refused to offer a refund, help with reaccommodation, or reimburse for the property that was damaged from the ants. Ants were present throughout our stay, forcing us to frequently sweep the floors and spray pesticides to minimize their impact- far from what anyone should expect in a hotel. Be very cautious with this listing. The lower price point and central location can be attractive, however, you will be sacrificing your well being throughout your stay. Also- the stair situation is not to be ignored. It is about 10 flights of stairs through narrow passage ways. I would not recommend to anyone who is in poor physical fitness.

We stayed at My Address in Barcelona--an apartment at Plaza Reial which is a great location. It's near La Rambala with many food and shopping options. The young lady who helped us in and out was delightful and strong!

The only way to this apartment is 100 steps up a dark and very worn staircase--which is likely 100+ years old. These stairs are ok if you're fit with little luggage--however--we were not so fit, and we were en route to a two-week cruise traveling heavy. The young lady helped us by carrying our biggest bags (half her weight) with multiple trips up the stairs. 

 We stayed here for 4 nights, and organized our days to go down in the morning, and back up at night. Once in the apartment, there were another 10 steps up to the bedroom area, then out onto a patio. We had a nice panorama of Barcelona. However, the attached photo of La Sagrada Familia was magnified a lot. Also good was that the A/C was cold and the hot water was hot. The pillow on each narrow bed was thin and flat.

 After this experience, we've decided a full-fledged hotel is important to us. There was a sign asking us to bag our trash and then take it down the steps to a bin on the street--however the young lady did that for us, And the picture at the time of booking misrepresented the access to an adjacent patio. 

We won't be back, but if you're healthy, young, and love stairs in a great location, this may be for you.

Watch out the invoice! I have paid 145€ of Security Deposit and they have never given them back to me. They said, that it was cleaning costs, but as you can see from the pictures, it’s clearly stated “deposit” in the invoice, so it should have been given back (we didn’t break anything)

Localização boa! Só isso! Banheiros péssimos. Mal funcionamento dos chuveiros. Maquina de lavar, não e secadora. Elevador pré histórico e com problemas na estadia. Acomodação sem conforto, fotos mostradas aoa se 2 ou mais apartamentos. Não recomendo. Experiência ruim con familia e amigos

Sem dúvida nenhuma foi o pior lugar que já me hospedei em toda minha vida. Conheço muitas cidades (Américas e Europa) e realmente me senti lesado. Parecia que eu estava num filme de terror. Sem conforte e aconchego, nenhuma decoração, banho quase impossível de ser tomada pois não saía água quente dos chuveiros, box apertadíssimo (tenho 1,70m - 70kg) onde eu não conseguia me movimentar. Se sabonete caía no chãao, era necessário abrir as portas do box, sair, pegar o sabonete e voltar ao box... Água vazava do box para dentro do quarto por debaixo da parede, molhando minhas malas e o que estivesse na frente. Não disponibilizaram nem algumas taças para tomarmos vinho... precisamos comprar taças para tomar vinho decentemente e depois deixamos lá para os próximos sofredores que aalugarem o apartamento. A máquina de lavar roupas não seca... além de botões/comandos com mal contato, o aparelho só lava mesmo e para secar as roupas precisamos montar um varal portátil e deixar próximo aos aquecedores para secar. Os quartos parecem leitos de hospital e as camas rangem demais; os colchões extremamente moles, machucando as colunas de todos nós. Solicitamos manutenção e só consertaram o chuveiro no penúltimo dia depois de irem 2x realizar a manutenção (alugamos 7 dias, ou seja, tomamos banho frio durante 5 dias de inverno). O apto está localizado no 1° andar, mas pra chegar nele por escadas são 9 lances de degraus equivalentes a 3 andares em qualquer outro lugar do mundo. O elevador é arcaico, entre as escadas e cabem no máximo 3 pessoas magras. Travou diversas vezes no meio do caminho, entre pisos e por sorte, nenhuma vez estávamos dentro dele. Para transportas nossas 7 malas tivemos de fazer 3 viagens com apenas 1 pessoa dentro do elevador. Ainda exigiram calção no valor de EUR 300,00 no cartão de crédito para eventuais danos, coisa que nunca vi acontecer em alugueis via booking/air bnb/etc. Decepcionante, conseguiram estragar nossa estadia em Barcelona, comprometendo as férias.

Posizione buona ma l’appartamento non corrisponde alle foto, ospita molte persone , ma pecca di pulizia, camere anguste con lucernari che non si possono aprire, inesistenti le tende luce h24 in camera. Bagni dire orrendi con vasca poco igienica e tendina in plastica , altri due bagni con doccie tipo ospedale. Diffidate dalle foto che vedete .
