I have given this rating 2 stars because that is what this hotel shoukd present itself as. I have stayed in a number of hotels in Barcelona city and this is one of the worst. For the same money as Hotel Cuitat Vella there are far nicer places available. The air conditioning did not work, the bed was just two singles pushed together and the furniture and decor of the room was tatty. The same in the bathroom, its all to a clean standard but just details like the shoer seal being mouldy and the mirror being grotty at the edge. For the price we paid I expected better here, there is the jacuzzi on the roof but again it is looking dated and the timber decking did not feel the safest to walk on. In my opinion this hotel is trying to sell itself as being of a standard that it falls very short of. The basics are there, it is acceptably clean and the place is safe but some of the staff were not helpful and the room was just very disappointing. We ended up spending more time out enjoying the beautiful city to avoid spending time in the room. Do not come here expecting three star accommodation as advertised because its not, they are trying to over charge for the standard offered.
