Chris especially, but each staff member I encountered was amazing. I would stay again in a heartbeat, the breakfast each morning was fantastic, you can walk to the main street area, etc.. If you go to Bar Harbor, ME then you should definitely stay here!!!

The property was cozy and beautiful. Chris was super accommodating of our vegan diet even on short notice and had the kitchen make delicious vegan breakfasts just for us. Our visit was super short but we'll definitely want to return to make the most of it next time.

Lovely stay, delightful property, warm, friendly and helpful staff and innkeeper, Chris. He clearly loves his job and loves making people feel welcome. Good location, local musicians play around the patio/fire pit in the summertime. A real treat.

Lovely people and atmosphere. Highly recommend. It was our first time in Bar Harbor and when we return, we won’t want to look elsewhere to stay. We were incredibly happy with the comfort, the vibe, and bonus - the food is top notch.

A great place to stay in Bar Harbor! A convenient place to stay around the walkable town. Also a convenient location as we hiked around Acadia National Park.
The room was clean & beautiful. The entire house & property are well maintained with everything you need. The breakfast & snacks were super tasty!
The innkeeper, Chris, was super nice & hospitable. His recommendation to do the sandbar hike over to Bar Island at low tide was fun. He truly made our visit special. Thanks

Our stay at The Sand Bar Cottages felt like we were staying in the home of a treasured friend. Chris, the Innkeeper, is beyond welcoming! Ready with recommendations for hikes, dinner, sunrise/sunset viewing, and more. Breakfast is 4-star delicious. So many wonderful features…too many to list.

We adored our room at our stay in sand bar cottage. It had two rooms and a sitting area and was plenty of room for my husband and me with our adult daughter. Everything in the town was within walking distance. Acadia was a short drive away. The breakfasts were delicious and always allowed choices from two amazing options.

Excellent service, great breakfast, walk to downtown Bar Harbor.. but..i thought i booked a cottage. However we ended up in the 3rd floor (no elevator) of the main house. The trip up to the room with luggage and in general wasn't pleasant.

There was no heater in the room. The AC was just a cooler. There was no instruction at the time of check in on how I need to access the manager during the night since there was no reception. The night was cold and uncomfortable. Not even a 30 min sleep. Once I finally found the number, which was handwritten on a card in the room, called the manager at 6 am.
he acted that there is nothing wrong and brought a portable heater and a blanket. he seems not to know that the AC is just a cooler as it was printed on the remote.
