Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

This beautiful bed and breakfast was perfect. Easy walk to the center of town, close to Acadia, delicious breakfast each day, the owners were lovely and the view of the sunset was absolutely stunning. If you are coming to Bar Harbor, stay here!

Stop debating and book Saltair Inn! We stayed here for 4 nights during our “babymoon” and it was all we hoped for! The view of the bay from the inn is fantastic and the hospitality Matt, Kristie, Lee, and Matt provide is wonderful. The breakfast each morning was enough to get us through the first part of our day in Acadia. The location is perfect, such an easy walk to downtown and super quick drive over to Acadia (less than 5 min). I would stay here again and again.

This was, hands-down, our favorite place we stayed during our coastal Maine trip! And it was the most reasonably priced for everything Matt and Kristi offer. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Beehive Suite. It was a bit of a trek going up and down as many times as we did, especially with heavy luggage, but we loved the room and the view!!!! And we never heard a single other guest during our stay. They have a great HVAC system that keeps the third floor very cool. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is a parking space for a car for every room. When we arrived, we got a thorough welcoming from Matt. He showed us on a map some suggestions of where to eat. The inn is an easy walk from the town and about a five minute drive from the entrance to Acadia National Park. We didn't partake in breakfast, but saw many others enjoying it. They have a beautiful deck with plenty of seating, and Adirondack chairs in the yard to enjoy the stars. They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place. We had to buy ice at the Circle K every day and keep it in our cooler in the room for our water bottles and cocktails. If you ever travel to Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay!!! Best view ever!!!

The Saltair Inn is a beautiful B & B in the perfect location for exploring Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. Easy walk to all of the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor, and just down the street from the land bridge to Bar Island. Matt and Kristi are the perfect hosts, and the breakfasts were fantastic!

I can't remember ever being so well taken care of. It's like staying with Grandma only better. Rooms were spotless. Food was exceptional. Matt and Kristi helped us plan our trip and then gave spot on referrals for dinner. We left before breakfast on our last day and complained about missing breakfast for 1200 miles home.

Excellent inn, rooms nicely appointed, great breakfast along with a very central, convenient location to the middle of town. Innkeepers were always friendly and attentive. Truly enjoyed the overall experience, which we will make an annual tradition.

Wonderful stay at a lovely B&B! Kristi & Matt are so friendly and welcoming, and the Inn is a fantastic choice when visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia. It’s just a few short blocks to restaurants and shops. Our room was large and very comfortable. We loved the updated bathroom too! The view was amazing, overlooking Frenchman Bay. Each morning started with a delicious breakfast prepared by Kristi. We really appreciated Matt’s tips and advice on navigating Acadia. We were also fortunate enough to meet the weekend hosts, Leigh & Matt. They were both just as accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Bar Harbor!

The Saltair Inn had the most mesmerizing location right on the water. The privacy can't be beat. The owners take pride in their home and it shows. Kristi and Matt were wonderful hosts and chefs. The breakfasts were not only delicious but artfully arranged as well. The bedroom was quiet and comfortable. I could spend hours just sitting on the back porch watching the boats sail by. It was a wondeful stay. If you can get a reservation for this b and b, do it today. It was very comfortable.

The location is excellent. The hosts are very nice. The breakfast is fine. It would be a 5 star if they gave the place a thorough cleaning and sanded and repainted the rooms. The paint around the windows and doors is very rough. It wouldn't be that huge of an effort or expenditure, and if they spruced it up, it would be 5 star.
