TownePlace Suites Bangor

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We would definitely return again as it is a convenient location close to shopping. The rooms are clean, big and just like pictures. We appreciate the kitchens in suite and the parking and breakfast are included. It is a good price for rooms which is why we try to pick TownePlace suites when we travel. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. We hope to stay again in the future.

The staff at the reception were wonderful. This review stands at a 2/5 because of the terrible housekeeping. 1. The bed get a 5/5 for comfort and a good night sleep even though the bedsheets dont go all the way down and cannot be tucked into the sides of the mattress. 2. The room cleaning is terrible. We had a not-so-clean experience as soon we opened the door to our room. The sink had hair in it and was dusty. 3. We requested housekeeping a day in advance per the rules and confirmed this with the lovely lady at the reception before leaving for site seeing. We came back to a room that had not been cleaned. 4. The pot in the bathroom was leaking from its base. 5. On returning to a dirty room, the lovely girl at the reception said she was sorry that our room was not cleaned. She offered to bring us towels and 2 glasses per our request. 1 of the 2 glasses was clearly dirty and she said "I would give these a rinse as theyve been sitting in the closet". 6. The bathroom does not have a good exhaust- if someone uses it for their usual business and leaves the door open, the smell travels into the bedroom by the beds. This property is modern and lovely but with a few easy improvements could easily be a 5/5. The housekeeping staff here needs to be trained better or supervised better.

This hotel is clean and not too noisy. It is next to a Marriott courtyard. Plenty of parking, our room had a nice kitchenette, full refrigerator and dish washer. The room also had a nice bathroom, king size bed, and the TV played well. The hotel is in a quiet area with little traffic and low light. Staff was good also and the breakfast was what you expect from Marriott.

We just stayed one night while driving to Acadia. In this area the hotels are more affordable than Bar Barbor. I had previously stayed in the same chain and I had a good experience. Friendly staff, was able to get a ground floor room on the quiet side. Room is in good shape, has a kitchenette and is larger than a normal room. I used the desk and it was good to work remotely for a few hours. Everything was clean, comfortable, bathroom worked ok. Breakfast was very basic. It met my needs for a short visit.

We stay here for one night travel to Bar harbor, and the highway truck noise woke me up at 4AM, I won’t stay here again, it’s you choice if you don’t might the highway notices but I won’t stay here again.

This hotel is close to all services. The Bangor Mall is about a half mile away; Best Buy, Hannaford, . Closer to the hotel is Sam’s Club and other stores. Several gas stations are close to the hotel. Most major national restaurants are located within the half mile radius, from the hotel, including Uno, Wild Wings, Applebee’s, and the others. There are also many local and independent restaurants are close to the hotel. Next to the Towne Place is a Courtyard Hotel. Most of these stores and restaurants are on Hogan Road, in both directions. Hogan Road intersects with Sylvan Road. The front desk staff, Christina, Shaelyn, and Christopher were very helpful and displayed excellent customer skills. Each were very knowledgeable about the area. We had a suite. It was similar to a large studio apartment. By the entrance to the suite, was the kitchen; it was a good size kitchen. It had a coffee brewer, dishwasher, large refrigerator, microwave, and two electric burners. There was kitchenware for four people pots and pans, glassware. Additionally, there is a living room with a work area and a sleeping area. The bathroom is fairly large. The rooms and public areas are very clean. There is a limited breakfast buffet; there were no homemade waffles or breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast area was larger than most other hotels breakfast areas. The hotel is next to I-95. Exit I-95 at exit 187. Turn right onto Hogan Road and another quick right on Sylvan Road. Drive on Sylvan Road for almost half a mile. The hotel will be on the left.
