Bandholm Badehotel

What a brilliant place for a family event- in this case a celebration of a significant birthday. Great rooms and excellent wheelchair access. One highlight was a day trip to Maribo using the Bandholm Veteran train. Not wheelchair accessible, but they went out of their way to help and made it a unique experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic venue for both business and romantic getaways. We spend two very constructive days while experiencing both venue and nature nearby. Calm surroundings and excellent food/wine. Special thanks to Joachim and Emma. Highly recommend.

Not a good welcome. Had to persuade the reseptionist to gave us a table for dinner, although knowing that this is the only eatingplace in the area. A big company group was more important. The room was fine and clean and easy accesable from street. The dinner was not a success. The fish was tasteless and not delicate presented. Why must almost all danish badehotels try to go down the gourmet lane ? We miss the traditionell dansih cooking. Breakfast was good but very fancy and modern. Almost as we still are in covid times. Nice and quiet area.

We had read great reviews of The Bandholm Hotel and their high level and I must say that everything we had read was 100% correct. We were treated with a 7 course dinner of international standard. Fantastic performance of the headchef and his staff. Service at a high level in both the restaurant, reception and lounge. We stayed overnight at the Bandholm hotel and had the most unique experience. On a sunny day in the middle of February, we visited the hotel and can highly recommend visiting this completely unique and beautiful place.

We visited for my sisters birthday as a family. We had booked 2 nights and had specifically told the receptionist at the time of booking that there were 2 vegetarians to which we were told this was no problem. Dinner is a set menu chosen by the chef each night and as with the rest of our weeklong Denmark trip we had told all hotels of the vegetarian requirements. However, at Bandholm this message wasn’t noted and the staff / chef / restaurant were unable to find a solution. We were even accused of lying about telling the hotel beforehand ! We were asked if we had confirmation in writing that we had asked for 2 vegetarians (what!). Honestly the way we were treated, rude staff, not solution minded or polite whilst sitting in this dark and depressing interior made us want to leave immediately. The decor is like a cheap nightclub not at all like a Badehotel and that have a difficult prima Donna head chef who had absolutely NO extra vegetables to make 2 vegetarian meals. This place used to be beautiful and you could sit in the lovely garden and terrace but this is no longer allowed !!! The breakfast service was also a disaster, a very young and incompetent girl was trying to handle check outs / make coffee and take orders - the whole place could have been run better by children and more politely. Avoid this place - used to be so nice but no longer sadly.

Nice location and newly furnished. Could be great but the service level has to seriously increase in order to be competitive. Cleaning of room and bathroom during the 3 night stay was almost non existent. Wet floor mat in bathroom just was kept there smelling badly. The dinner experience with a seven course dinner is interesting but extremely slow. So arm yourself with a lot of patience. Definitely the flavors are not at the level of other experiences and it seems to lack a clear concept. Explanations in English do not exist. There is potential here, but needs better service, better cleaning and a general thought about the concept they want to offer.
