Dewangga Ubud

This delightful hotel in the centre of Ubud has a wonderful Balinese feel. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much. The grounds are beautifully lush and there is a good pool. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers complimentary activities such as yoga.

The hotel is in a very central location making it a comfortable walk to many of the local attractions, restaurants and of course the myriad of shops. We were upgraded on arrival to a larger room at the rear of the resort but after one night, we requested a move to a room closer to the front on ground level. We did not feel confident about negotiating the many steps up and down stairs as there were many without safety rails and had the potential to become slippery when wet. The staff accommodated our request promptly and made the move an easy one The breakfast included fruit, juices, yoghurt, muesli, pastries, tea, coffee and included a main dish from a menu selection which was then prepared to order. All well presented and tasty. Each room had an outdoor seating area. We felt the rooms were a little tired and the lighting in the bathroom made shaving a challenge especially as the mirror was mounted far too high on the wall. The bed pillows could do with being replaced as they were lumpy and uncomfortable. The hotel is set in beautiful tropical gardens which are constantly being maintained by staff. The pool is pristine and inviting. The standout for us was the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble, always smiling, generous with helpful suggestions. They made our stay such a pleasant time

This Hotel was very disappointing, they had good reviews and location, but they put us in a horrible room that had not been renovated, and had an old-style bathroom where the shower runs onto a pebble floor. This outdated arrangement (outside bathroom) kinda works in some old outdoor bali-style bathrooms (cheap ones), but it had been enclosed. Turning it into a total mold factory, it was not immediately obvious until we entered the room in the evening and could barely breathe, it was too late to change rooms and we had to spend an uncomfortable, almost sleepless night breathing damp, stinky, black mold, air. (even with the connecting door to the bathroom closed) We complained in the morning requesting a better room, but they said they were totally "sold out", That was until we said we were fully prepared to leave the hotel altogether. They miraculously came up with a newer, updated room. But if they did not we were fully prepared to eat the lost money, and go somewhere else. It was that bad. This bad experience was the low-point in an otherwise great vacation. This hotel is also undergoing a massive ad-on, putting in several stories of new rooms, so there is construction noise they did not tell us about, but we weren't as concerned about all of that as we were mostly outside of the hotel doing outings during the day. I just wish the Hotel Owner's Read this and spend some money and effort renovating their worst rooms to make them habitable, rather than just trying to build more rooms as fast as possible for maximum profit, and putting guests in old, dirty, unhealthy rooms, and ruining their own reputation, and the customer's experience in the process.

We loved our stay at Dewangga, and we have already decided we would stay there again the next time we visit Ubud. The bed was nice and big and comfortable. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a great bathtub and shower. I got a massage which was lovely. The location is also really wonderful, just minutes from the art market and palace, and about a 10 minute walk to the monkey forest. The pool is also wonderful to just relax and enjoy. It's an Oasis in the middle of the bustling city. Thank you to the manager Utami who made sure to welcome us personally upon our arrival. Next time we will stay for longer and hopefully participate in the cooking class!

A gorgeous setting right in the heart of Ubud. Staff are incredible. The pool is beautiful set with lush garden surroundings. We loved the visiting monkeys in the morning. Walking distance to Ubud markets and restaurants! Rooms were large and had a huge bed!

Dewangga has a homely family type feeling. The management and staff are personable and their priority is you. The philosophy of Dewangga is apparent and it operates from a loving heart and space . Utami in Management was very easy to talk to and her wonderful attitude filters through the staff there. There were so many wonderful staff members but some like Agi and Ani who will always be remembered fondly by us. Dewangga although in the heart of Ubud is in a very natural environment. It is quiet and calm with its surroundings. As soon as you step off the Main Street you enter a complete oasis. Our room was superb and we would highly recommend Dewangga as a place to stay that is a real authentic Bali experience. It is easy to say that we could go and stay again at Dewangga Ubud.
