Our stay at D'Nusa Resort, Lembongan was nothing short of a nightmare. The resort's unsafe food, dangerous conditions, unresponsive staff, and lack of accountability put our health and safety at serious risk, leaving us physically, emotionally, and financially drained. SEVERE ILLNESS AND UNSAFE FOOD: From December 28th, both my partner and I became violently ill after eating at the resort. Symptoms included severe diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dehydration, and weight loss (I lost 14 kg). The food hygiene was appalling, with raw meat, stale rice, spoiled milk, and flies in the breakfast buffet. Even after complaints, food safety issues persisted, and we had to stop eating anything from the hotel altogether. MEDICAL EMERGENCY IGNORED: On January 3rd, I required urgent medical assistance due to my deteriorating condition. Despite repeated requests, staff were dismissive and unresponsive, prioritizing their phones over our emergency. My partner had to demand action at the front desk, only to find staff playing games on their phones. The doctor later informed me I was lucky to survive, highlighting the resort’s life-threatening neglect. PARTNER’S CONDITION WORSENED AFTER LEAVING: After leaving the resort, my partner’s condition severely deteriorated, requiring a hospital visit. The way the new hotel handled the emergency was completely different. They were professional, quick, and caring, ensuring we felt safe and supported. This stark contrast confirmed just how terrible D'Nusa’s service was and validated our feelings about how unsafe and poorly managed the resort is. NO REAL COMPENSATION: The resort offered us a bar credit as compensation, but we were too sick to use it. After leaving early, we were only refunded for the two nights we canceled, which wasn’t genuine compensation given the trauma and expenses we endured. The $30 boat ride off the island, which they offered, was barely a token gesture and doesn’t begin to account for the financial and emotional toll of our stay. DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE CONDITIONS: An electrical fire near our villa was poorly addressed, with staff using exposed electrical tape for repairs. The gym was mouldy and unsafe, and trash piles attracted rats near the villa. Basic cleanliness and hygiene in the rooms and bathrooms were sorely lacking. FINAL WARNING TO FUTURE GUESTS: This resort is unsafe, unprofessional, and unfit for guests. The management takes no responsibility, and their dismissive attitude toward guest safety is unacceptable. If you value your health, safety, and peace of mind, avoid D'Nusa Resort at all costs. Our experience here was traumatic, and the way the new hotel handled things showed us just how bad this resort really is. Until significant improvements are made, D'Nusa should not be allowed to operate.
