Bella Vista Corcovado

This is a simple place with only a handful of rooms, but both the location and ambience were outstanding. The lodge is located a good distance on a rough road from the village at Drake Bay. This gave us the perfect opportunity to start our CR trip in a place where we could just relax for a few days - walking miles of beaches or other trails near by, watching the birds from our doorstep, or hanging out in the restaurant with new friends. The rooms are very basic (and inexpensive). We booked a room with an ensuite bathroom, but the location was not the best. It was too close to the kitchen and the view was not as good. The 4 rooms that have shared bathrooms are smaller, but have a lovely balcony to hang out on. If you just need a clean, decent place to sleep these rooms are just fine. What makes this lodge so special is the atmosphere and service delivered up from the three older sisters that basically run the place. The food is outstanding in the lovely open-air restaurant. There was lots of laughter and interaction with the family. throughout the four days we stayed there, We would certainly book again, perhaps for longer.
