Rancho Pacifico - Boutique Hotel for Adults

We stayed 4 nights in the Villa Romantica at Rancho Pacifico in January 2025. My husband planned this trip to celebrate my birthday and it was AMAZING. I won’t reveal how special they made my birthday. Some things should be a surprise. There is an old saying “No pain, No gain” and that would adequately describe the drive to RP. Just be prepared for a 4 ½ hour drive before you get to “Paradise”. The anticipation continued to mount as we got closer to our destination. NOTE: We highly recommend that you have RP reserve a drive service for you. DO NOT RENT A CAR. TRUST ME. Once we arrived at RP, all our worries just slipped away. We were met by Noelli and her staff who whisked away our luggage and escorted us to the bar before being shown to our table for dining that had been reserved for us, with an incredible bird’s eye view of the city far below. Noelli’s keen eye to customer service sensed that food and drink was a priority, and we could tend to the “orientation” the next day. Just as I wasn’t fully prepared for the long drive, I wasn’t prepared for the INCREDIBLE food being presented to us the first night. Each day thereafter, we were amazed at the chef’s creations and artful presentations of each delicacy. For example, one of the two starters was a flash fried avocado coated with pistachio flour and a delectable sauce with frisee and chopped pistachios on top. Now a few words about our Villa. Secluded, private pool, large wrap around deck with incredible views and luxurious bedding for the best night sleep ever. Hiking trails were rated moderate to difficult and we found this to be true. The spa was wonderful-we had 90-minute massages including facials. We were looking for a relaxing, do nothing, vacation so I can’t comment on all the extracurricular adventures, but other guests commented on the zip lining and ATV tours and were happy with them. RP will drive you into town, so a car is not needed. The staff was incredible: Noelli, Theresa and Sharon were great at the concierge desk. Jason, Andrey, and Vianney were wonderful in the restaurant and bar. Jonathan was an extraordinary chef. Natalia took great care in housekeeping. I highly recommend RP for a romantic getaway.

My only complaint about Rancho Pacifico is that we had to leave it! From the second we arrived, every single staff member treated us like family, going above and beyond to quickly get us anything we needed or wanted. Lots of personal touches to celebrate that we were on our honeymoon! They were so helpful in arranging our excursions. The facilities are clean and the surroundings gorgeous. The trails on property are really nice - we even saw monkeys! There’s a ton of really beautiful wildlife on property; we especially loved watching the toucans. But very minimal bugs in the resort, even in the middle of the jungle! The hot tub is the perfect temperature, the massage I had at the spa was the best I’ve ever had. And can we talk about the food and drinks?! Fresh, creative, delicious, always made to order, and very generous portions. Only a 10 minute drive down the mountain to explore Uvita. I HIGHLY recommend Rancho Pacífico for your Costa Rica getaway!

This is our 3rd year using RP and the entire team is AMAZING and the VIEWS are like none other! The food is fresh, unique, and delicious and the rooms are so comfortable and cozy that you hate to have to leave them. The property is so safe you don't have to worry about locking your door. After reading countless reviews, scrutinizing photos, and exploring local offerings, we confidently booked—and we’re so glad we did. Arrival & First Impressions: Our journey was smooth from the start. Meeting our driver at the airport was a breeze, and we even paused en route to marvel at local crocodiles and enjoy empanadas so large and fresh they deserve their own review! Though the drive is a bit long, the breathtaking scenery more than compensates. Upon arrival at Rancho Pacifico, we were warmly welcomed with cool, scented towels and refreshing juice. Our bags were whisked away, and everything was thoughtfully explained to ensure we felt immediately at home. The Resort & Accommodations: Rancho Pacifico exceeded our expectations. The property is impeccably maintained, with crisp linens, fresh local flowers, and sweet details like tea lights for a cozy bath later. The staff was exceptional—always available for anything from arranging excursions to answering local questions—and genuinely friendly. By the end of our stay, it felt like we were leaving friends behind. Housekeeping was top-notch; we’d return from outings to find our room spotless, towels refreshed, and personal items untouched. Amenities & Nature: Every amenity was pristine—from the sparkling pool and hot tub to the serene jungle yoga pavilion where I could truly connect with nature. The on-site waterfall hike is a must, offering both adventure and stunning beauty. Wildlife lovers, take note: from our patio, we spotted daily toucans, hummingbirds, coatis, coons, and countless butterflies. The distant calls of howler monkeys carried on the cool breeze, adding to the magical ambiance, the constant hum of nature. Culinary Highlights: The food—oh, the food! Fresh, local, and crafted with love, every meal was a delight. I’m still dreaming of the coconut milk mushrooms and the unforgettable falafel. My husband raved about the sea bass and tuna tartare, and the passionfruit martinis were simply divine. V is the BEST bartender! The chef’s farm-to-table approach shone through in every bite, with accommodations made effortlessly for dietary preferences. Activities & Experiences: Rancho Pacifico’s adventure package added the perfect touch of excitement. We relished every activity—ATV rides, soothing massages, thrilling waterfall rappelling, and a breathtaking sunset horseback ride. Each was seamlessly arranged by the attentive staff and left us with lasting memories. Final Thoughts: If you’re on the fence about booking Rancho Pacifico, consider this your sign: go. Beautiful boutique resort nestled on a mountainside of the Costa Rican rainforest. Peaceful, quiet, relaxing…excellent chef-inspired cuisine prepared with fresh, local food. Service is impeccable and was wonderful to get to be welcomed by name and to interact with staff and other guests…Andre, Vianney, and Jason were especially amazing and fun to get to know. Our brand new treehouse had amazing views of the rainforest and Whales Tail Beach. Bedding was quite comfy and the entire resort is super clean and well maintained. The private outdoor showers and soaker tub were so relaxing and private. Amazing excursions were arranged by the staff (as was transportation to and from the sites) and we were able to hike Whales Tail beach/Marino Ballena Park, and take trips whale watching (saw humpbacks), to Manual Antonio Park (saw 2 and 3 toed sloths) and to the Sierpe Mangrove (boat tour and saw Howler/Squirrel/and White-faced monkeys, cayman and crocs, scarlet macaws, toucans and a boa.) we had a marvelous time and I would highly recommend Rancho Pacifico
