Mapakada Village - Mahiyanganaya

Looking at all the great reviews we booked one double room and another triple room a month ahead as it was a long weekend. When we finally got to the hotel after a very long drive from colombo the experience we had to face was so unfortunate! After getting us to pay inadvace to confirm the booking( which was 58,000 rupees for 5 adults) when we got there they have given the superior rooms away. The management staff who were not at all apologetic just simply said well the 02 small double rooms (which you don't see in pictures) are the one's which are remaining so you'll will have to just take that! Mind you these are so small and on top it they were trying to put a small bed with a spring mattress to make it a triple!!! We were not going to be cooped up for 02 days so we had to take our business elsewhere. What still shockes me is how they acted as if it's our fault, went as far as to say we weren't sure whether you will come!!!! After paying for a full day!! It was just a low class sales gimmick to make a buck to sell their horrible dingy rooms! So if you don't want to be stranded after going all that way go to ELEPHYARD hotel in mahiyanganaya, cheaper but quality is way better!!!

We booked triple room to stay for two nights to visit Vedda’s Village as well to enjoy staying with the lake view in the pool. We came with 3 kids to get our adventure just tonight. The room didn’t have any view (please see photo below) with two massive AC cooling blocks before our window. The bathroom is too tiny to squeeze with even one kid. The open restaurant terrace with lake view is under maintenance. The staff is not self-aware what they are selling. It doesn’t cost its money and doesn’t even worthwhile staying. The hotel is empty. They are reluctant to give us better room. My kids are too tired from the road so that we must pay full price (not discounted for inconveniences). I cannot tell more than I am totally upset and angry.

Amazing location & beautiful scenery at the hotel. Clean room, polite & friendly staff! Delicious food and served at the restaurant by Ayesh - wonderful service! Super recommended 10/10 Thank you!!

Comaratively cheap place and one o the very fewin the area. There werw some issues inthe rooms we booked, but once we inform they were very quick to fix them. Also as a new team theyare doing good. May br need some improvement over time. But i recomend this place..

Its highly recommended Mapakada Village .We had excellent service, Delicious foods and also entir staff was very friendly.

This is my second visit to this place. My first experience made me to take my extended family for a day out. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay and the amenities. Excellent view and services. Good food and staff.. No complaints. A-Z were perfect.
